Looking at purchasing a dash cam. I can only find ones that stick or suckered to the front screen and this would foul the remis screen. I do not like the suckered option.
Is there a cam that either has a slim enough bracket that can fit behind the screen or one that be mounted on the dash itself?

Thanks in advance,

Vic

I got a VIOFO VS1 Mini and stuck it to the dash. The cable runs under the lower blind rail and along the front of the dash to the fuse box where it's permanently wired. It's small and screenless, so it doesn't interfere with my vision. Good image quality without unnecessary features.

I use a Nextbase 622GW that uses a magnetic mount and have mounted it in the top right of the windscreen, which clears the closed Remis blind with the camera off the mount.
It's easy to run the power cable down behind the Remis blind casing to the fuse box to pickup power for a hardwired kit.

Mine is on the windscreen and the blind works okay, the blind itself is a few inches away from the screen.

Check your Remis blind.
Most (all?) of the front ones have a little notch at rear mirror height, it slides out so that a mirror (or GPS) can be mounted on the screen

This is what I did to use the redundant mirror location for my dashcam installation with the Remis blinds:

Our nextbase we got a pad that stuck to dash which we mounted it on or you can get bean bag holders for them

No problem with mine. It’s a Transit Custom. I use a Jomise F/R dash cam with the main screen over the rear view mirror. Camera sticks to windscreen, GPS aerial in corner. Both fit no problem.

The rear camera sits in the back window and the Vanshades unit has space for that. I can actually drive around with all the blinds shut and see out! ( only in parking area obviously).

No issues of clearance.

Viofo A139 works for me in a Boxer cab.

I am pleased with the Aguri sat nav that I have fixed to the dash avoiding the blinds. It’s sat navinging has also performed well all over Europe!

I have a Garmin Dash Cam. It's small but gives a very clear image.
It mounts to a small self adhesive metal disc about the size of a 20 pence piece. This is stuck to the desired area of the Windscreen. The Garmin then magnets itself to it. The disc is thin about the thickness of a coin. Then you just clip it on and off when you need to.
I have the pull up from the bottom screen blind in our 2022 Swift Select PVC.
Its perfect and has other functions built in like voice control and notifying of danger spots..
Its the latest model but I'm not near it to give you the actual details.

I use a Nextbase 422 GW on a transit based C-class
The mount is supplied with 2 interchangeable "feet", 1 being a sticky pad, the second being a suction cap.
The 2 pieces are held together by 3 "T" shaped pins that fit into 3 slots on the "feet".
The sticky pad "foot" is sufficiently thin not to interfere with the Remis blinds.
I simply slide dashcam and mount off the "foot".

I've mounted a Nextbase at the bottom of the screen in front of the sliding bar on the blinds and it does not foul the sliding blinds

I assume dash cams can easily be removed? I understand it’s illegal to even possess one in Portugal.

The laws in Portugal are really confused. Given that there's tons of CCTV, Google Streetview, and several cars sold in Portugal have built in dashcams now, I'm pretty sure the law isn't enforced. There are even instances of the police accepting dashcam footage.
