Dark Mode

That is how it's always been for me, but now, the forum selections have been extended?

That's how it's always been for lots of people, but others on different operating systems, browsers, screen sizes all see things a little differently. Until everyone uses the exact same machine and the same browser it will ever be a compromise. '\

Okay, it's no big deal it just seemed strange that it happened after the latest update on the phone I have been using for nearly a year.
Initially, the Forum slot on the left did extend to about 9 different choices, it reduced about 48hrs ago to just 5. 👍

It's annoying, the forum software defaults the menu to open for the page you are on. I understand the reasoning, but it's a pain, especially on a small machine.

3 years ago, I paid someone to write some code to stop it happening. So sections like forums, classified etc didn't expand until clicked. That code now breaks the updated forum software and needs to be redone. Unfortunately, It's way down a list of priorities. Meanwhile, as you noticed, I stripped some things out of the menu to make it a little less of a pest.
 
Light/dark icon is present on my iPad, at top right between the bell and search icons. Likewise on my mobile running Android 14 (just in landscape view, as Jim said).

On Tams thread post no 474 was in light mode - everything before and after Dark..
 
I’m getting the oops! but changed it in preferences (iPhone 15 pro)

FYI Jim I am also now seeing avatars centred to the page rather than on the left, see photo…

I've just tried using the 'bulb' icon and get the same message, I can change it back to the light mode but it stays dark unless I refresh the page.
