I soldered needles onto my Meter to reduce the hole sizes they make. I can barely see any marks after testing.

Someone on here recommended this one - and I think it is brilliant. It even has an audible signal that indicates the level of damp, in case you stick it somewhere you can't see the LCD reading.

I have one of those but I would not use it on a motorhome, those points will damage most finishes. I also have a pinless moisture meter which is far better and gets a lot more use.

The problem with the pinless meters is that that pick up too much atmospheric moisture. All depends on the age of your moho really as most new vans have a dye added to walls, floor & roof which seeps into the panelling when ingress is there. Stops the cowboys scaring the pants off you... no dye, no ingress. Leaky windows & roof lights is a different although discolouration is usually present.

Half of them who do damp checks don't even know anything about the construction of a motorhome and spend a lot of time giving punters reading which have been produced by aluminium.
