I purchased a Schneider moisture meter from Amazon (currently unavailable ). It was bought for testing logs but came in handy for testing a dodgy MH from a dodgy dealer and save us some tears.
It is available elsewhere.

The answer to the previous post is probably an Protimeter but unless you're made of money it's probably not for you!

I reply to these posts, by saying. You do not need an expensive meter. The readings obtained by your meter will not necessarily coincide with those from a professional version. However, they should be consistent and allow you to judge the moisture content of your vehicle components. First find a base value to compare all readings with, to do this take readings from areas very unlikely to be damp, such as internal partitions. You should get similar readings from these surfaces. Taking this as your base (dry) reading, you can now test all the vulnerable areas, knowing that any readings in excess of the base reading, will require investigation. Obviously, any vastly higher readings will sound alarm bells and should receive prompt investigation.
