Damaged shower floor in Swift Sundance

Hi everyone!

We've got a problem with the shower floor in our 2005 Swift Sundance. It's old and has cracked in a few places so the water seeps through the bottom and out to the rest of the van rendering it pretty unusable (see photo of the floor, there are three or four mini cracks).

I've called a swift dealer about a replacement floor they say they Swift don't make em for our model anymore. They recommended getting a speedcoat job done (https://speedcoateuro.com/) which looks pretty good from the website and can be done for £350-400 apparently. Only issue is we are in Spain (Andalucía) for the next 4-5 months and speedcoat installers are only in the UK.

We can't wait 4 months without a shower (I might be prepared too but my partner wouldn't!) What do people think are good options for either a temporary fix or a more permanent one out in Spain?

Would fibreglass work? Speedcoat's website is full of examples of that failing (it would be wouldn't it!). But we could maybe find a boatyard etc that could do it here.
Alternatively have people had luck with a good silicone job or any other kind of sealant for keeping the cracks at bay for a bit?

Final bit for info we don't intend to have the van for more than 6 months and whilst we don't want to sell it in a bad state an absolutely perfect solution is not needed!

is the floor underneath still supporting the shower tray? it has likely cracked due to movement in the tray and lack of support. that might dictate what type of repair is going to hold even for a short period.

Im sure spain has something similar. Ask reception a local dealer.

I think i would go for the mass silicone effort on a temporary basis whilst in Spain and try not to stand over it.

Then prior to selling do a proper job on it

Could you tray some breakers and replace the full unt.
If it could be removed in one and a new old one slotted into place . ?

I had the Speedcoat done on my previous van. Well worth it.

Maybe you can improvise with say Gorilla tape and/or silicone until you can get it done if you can't find someone in Spain who will do it?

Greta idea, thanks! Doubling up with the tape and silicone should hold it at bay a bit better and at least that means we can take the odd shower until we get back and either do the Speedcoat or as Clivefog says sell at a discount.

Don't use silicone as it will make it unrepaireable in the future.
I would use Gel Coat Filler it works really well on most surfaces. If you can get the shower tray out reinforce the cracks on the back with Gel Coat Filler and GRP tape. You can get both from boat chandlers.

Careful use of expanded foam to fill the void underneath perhaps.

Caravanpanels used to do a replacement....no idea if it was the same swift quality ie Tupperware , I had mine remade properly in fibreglass by a boat guy down in colchester so if you can find a local bloke out there.
Removing it isn't that hard but obviously you will lose the bathroom for the time it takes to get it made
