Damage to Moho

The problem is that the insurance system prefer that it is settled 50/50. That way they all earn money for doing very little work, and only you loose out, and they don’t care about that. Insurance companies are scum to make money, not to represent you, their customer any more. I’ve been in similar situation, and as so feel very sorry for you.

So today I have received a letter from my insurance saying that the Frenchman has decided to claim as it was my fault  to say I’m peeved is an understatement.
You should ask your insurance company why then did the Frenchman not fill in his 'European accident form?' which all european drivers including me receive with insurance documents.

""Make sure you fill in your constat amiable d’accident
An accident report sheet (constat amiable d’accident) must be filled in to claim insurance following an accident. You will have received an accident report sheet from your insurer when you purchased your car insurance.
This report is a statement of the facts and must include where the accident took place, the names of any witnesses, the names of both drivers, licence details and details of insurers. Do not sign any paperwork if you do not understand what is written. If that is the case, call the police who will help you to assess the facts and fill in the forms correctly. Both drivers must fill out the form and both must sign it.
If the other driver refuses to sign the form, note the registration number and take the details of any witnesses and police officers on the scene. You have up to five days to notify your insurer of your accident.""

If he thought he was in the right he would have done so & both parties have to fill in & sign each others. If you can't fill it in /can't agree the police are called & do it.
UK is the only country that doesn't insist on it whereas in many others ,no report form = no claim.
European based insurers rarely do knock for knock.

well I’m living and learning on this journey, only pi##er is that we are about to go full time in March and know this will hike our insurance now.

Do any of you know if there’s a way to record from an already existing rear view camera setup? I have a clip over mirror monitor with duel cameras on the back.

Someone hit my car when I was stationary, I asked if I needed a witness and he said “of course not, it was my fault” so I didn’t bother taking details from the many people there. He later came back and said I hit him! I proved via the damage pics that it was physically impossible to have occurred in the way he described (he said I drove into his stationary vehicle). I demanded that the insurance company pursued the other guy and it eventually went to court where the other chap lost!

Similar happened to my parents 30 years ago. The other driver hired a barrister but with no witnesses and no police called it was he said / she said so neither party won. The other people lost because they had the barrister to pay.
