Dacia offer 2 LPG-fuelled models

I'm a driver for Waitrose and most of our trucks run on compressed natural gas.
Saving a fortune over the old diesels and run a lot cleaner.

Sorry for my ignorance, is this the same as lpg? Or are there different (and fewer) pumps?

Interested in what makes you say that about the petrol version. I'm looking at getting one.

The original Dacias were made in India and there were issues with rust. Similarly, the earlier engines were also suspect, petrol and diesel alike. If you are considering new they are a completely different beast. Body/chassis is galvanised, engines are Renault!

They are now built in a state of the art huge factory in Romania. The build quality is extremely good as are the new engines 2019 on. The advice that I have read on here is completely incorrect. Just go and have a look and a test drive. The Duster 1.3 turbo comfort has to be tried to be believed. Quiet, refined, comfortable, 45 mpg (tested) and goes like stink, (also tested).

People who believe that they are cheap rubbish are missing out big time.

Here is the new factory, Renault, in Romania. Have a look and do try!

But they are turning over. If they don’t the crank bends under its own weight so they keep it turning.

What crank?

AFAIK, steam is heated by coal in a boiler which is then used to drive turbines.

All the while, of course, petrol companies are removing LPG fill points in their droves. While LPG might prove cheaper, that will have to be offset by travelling further to fill up.

Different stuff Bill but allegedly it's the future. Gas stations are appearing slowly but few and far between at the minute.
Run on 250 bar pressure.

Based on independent testing of nearly 9,000 cars from the EU that were manufactured recently and that have state-of-the-art pollution controls, those that run on LPG produce 11% less CO2 in operation and about 15% less from ‘well to wheel’, i.e. over the entire fuel supply chain than identical cars run on petrol.
The research also indicates that LPG cars produce less NOx than both petrol and diesel ones. In fact, when compared to diesel, five times less NOx is emitted. LPG vehicles are significantly lower on particle emissions as well.

OK - 10% to 15% better according to its promoters. Hardly competition for hydrogen or electricity. Just another distraction.

Dacia petrol cars are seriously poor cars. Diesels are valued about the correct price.
interesting, bought a new 1.2 petrol Dacia 2016 now done 40k nothing broken or replaced under warranty, a simply low cost car, that I can drive for 4-5 hours without feeling fatigued. Came with 5 year warranty, Plan to run it for 100k does 50mpg, what else would you buy with £7k that you can stuff 100k on? I think I have the last laugh when people struggle with payments on their top end cars but own nothing.

Go on the tour of drax they can explain it better

I think it probably alludes to the main shaft of the steam turbine ? Older designs had hydrostatic bearings, where high pressure oil was pumped into the narrow bearing space and "floated" the turbine shaft on a film of oil. They have to slowly rotate to stop gravity taking over which would allow the shaft to contact the bearing surface, developing a score or crease on the bottom face of the bearing, I think it might be the same for some of the larger wind turbines too, you can sometimes see them slowly turning on days with no wind ? A bit like leaving your van on the drive for a few months and developing flat spots on your tyres (if that one isn't an urban myth ?)

If you are spending £100k then you shouldn't go past an RS6 avant. :)
