Hi, does anyone know anything about this cruise control, I’m not sure if it works, but would like to find out more about it.

Also if you press the brake or change gear, it should cancel. If you have to slow down a bit for a short time for example. Then you can press 'Res' (= resume) and it will go back up to the speed you previously set.

I'd suggest an empty motorway is the place to learn how to use Cruise Control.

Personally I think in the UK, CC is a of very little use, as it's simply not possible to keep the same speed on UK roads.
I don't use it from one month to the next in the UK, despite doing some long drives.
However once you get outside the UK, where the roads are of better quality and have a lot less traffic, then CC can be very useful.

The other far more useful feature is the Speed Limiter.
I use this on a daily basis.
You set the speed limit to whatever is needed 20mph, 30mph, 50mph and you then don't have to worry about constantly checking your speed as you pass the cameras.

(Here in London if I drive to the M25 North there are 14 speed cameras in 10 miles, or 'only' 7 speed cameras in 10 miles if I drive to the M25 East.)

Come North young man. Use it all the time up here. Certainly every long journey.

I use it a lot. I'm usually not in a hurry, so I go at 55 to 60 on motorways, and set it as soon as I join from the slip road. It minimises the fuel consumption too, and therefore the CO2 emissions. On uncrowded A roads I often set it to 40 or 45 and enjoy the scenery. And yes I regularly pull onto a layby to let faster vehicles overtake, I don't hold anyone up.

I find it increases fuel consumption as soon as it comes to a hill it floors the throttle and you accelerate at an alarming rate.

I tend to use mine on motorways only as long as the traffic is flowing, as I normally start a journey after 10:00 am and plan to arrive at where i'm going too next by about 13:30 and not later then 15:00 I don't normally have too many traffic issues, I set it at 56mph and trundle along the nearside lane with the trucks.

On 3rd van so not a total newbie....
Use mine all the time, it is adaptive, I find it helps fuel consumption, today did 100 miles all motorway/dual carriageway set to 56mph and achieved 34.9mpg which for 4.5t I think is quite impressive.

I'm in the south and also use it all the time, both on the car and the van. I had it retro-fitted to the van. To me it's an essential.

Interesting. On my van it makes very minimal difference (checking MPG top of tank to top of tank), although I don't think it's quite as effective as having an OEM version. Mine is a third party make which I had installed before realising I could've had an OEM one instead.

Makes a big differance in mountain areas.

Use it all the time and happy speeding up and slowing down using the control lever as a throttle
Works for me and helps with speed awareness and perception.
Ie If I don’t change my speed will I hit him 😂

We have just done 2,700 miles of mixed driving using the adaptive cruise control (set to 93km/h) as often as possible. We achieved 28.7 MPG. Mercedes-Benz @ 4.5t. There is only 9k on the clock so it is probably still a bit tight.

Could be set in speed limiter mode, when you see the 55 try flicking the lever up or down if the number changes it could be in limiter mode. Thats how mine works.

Me too, I press the accelerator slightly to let the speed increase going down hill and the cruise control takes over uphill 👍 much smoother and I bet it uses less fuel 😎

Same as mine, but I have just 2,000 miles on, on a coach built 780, looking forward to our run down to Spain to see what it will do on a long run.

Lets see.

On Friday & Saturday I'm driving a fully loaded manual 17 seater minibus with a 6.5m loaded canoe trailer on the back from London to Fort William.
(Along with 7 other fully loaded minibuses, all towing canoe or box trailers)

The one I'm driving is a newer Ford Transit, it's speed limited to 100kmph/62mph, and fitted with Cruise Control.

Lets see if I use the CC for any distance (other than to try it out.)

Does the speed limiter actively brake to keep you below the limit, on a long downhill stretch for example, or does it just limit the throttle to stop you accelerating over 62mph?

On a Ducato it just limits the throttle, I never use now it's caught me out a few times. Been through a village pulling out onto the bypass, put foot down, nothing happens & go into panic mode before I remember it's turned on.
