Cruise control as an after market option is it worth it. ?

If in this day and age it doesn't come with cruise control.... what else doe it not have.

I press the accelerator slightly to stop engine braking when going down a hill, especially going into a dip, you then carry more speed into the climb on the other side👌. Probably better for fuel consumption too.

Anybody else do this?

Definitely especially if you intend travelling abroad were the roads are generally not as congested

Ordered now so I will wait to see how easy it is to fit.

Got the ncs on mine 07renault master 2.5

Yep

infact if its a steep incline going back up i've been known to let the moho get up to whatever speed it wants to going down, and I mean anything up to 80mph to help it get back up the other side, and a bit more if it wants to. I certainly do not brake going downhill thats for sure ;)

Easy enough especially if your double jointed or 2’6” tall. Just a fiddly “little wire” type job.

For me it's cruise out of town and limiter in urban areas. 👍

Just received a reply from this company they confirm it fits out make and model as a euro 3 in the drop down menu.
even though it’s not shown in their list on site as comparable.
so good news we’re going to order one and get it fitted.
Snap, just need to confirm with photo

Well that’s awkward then 😳 never mind I will just have to my best.
just looked at the pedal for the box to replace. Yep you have to be at least 2.6” to change it or hold my breath a few seconds at a time while laying across the floor..

Enough said .🤢

I’ve a 2005 2.8, built 2007 reg ducato, hobby, I got it via another funster & just been away to York’s & back just over 600 miles over 2 days) of m5/42/1 & I tend to stick at 60 using what I think is an aftermarket cruise, I love it, yes it looses on hills & speeds up when it recognises that it’s dropped but it take the strain off of a long haul.
I didn’t pay for it but am glad it’s there.

So far as getting the stalk fitted by drilling a single 10 mm hole under the indicator stalk and access to the dash and one connection behind the dash panel has been easy. Soldered and taped with self amalgamating Tape.

and I do not know a lot about this sort of thing .looks like the pedal parts could be the hardest .
again it’s getting access to the cables and a plug in part.

but the instructions are well explained and easy to read. So anyone should be able to fit this Aftermarket cruise control.
but we’re see….😄

My daily drive VW Transporter didn't have cruise control, so I got it retrofitted. We have a lot of average speed (revenue generator) cameras up my way, so it's a must. I also have cruise control on the motorhome and the motorbike!!

Well worth it for the peace of mind to save the licence and fines if your speed creeps up within an average speed area.

Yes I did I sent the detail via email just to confirm it’s right fit swift.
they confirmed it so I ordered and paid for it.
takes a few days for them to sort it then when posted it was next day delivery.
received an email the day it was due. And attached to the mail was the fitting instructions and operating details.

so far it’s been very easy. I have three cables to fit. Thats to the three paddle switches and a plug to push in.
get to finish it Friday as I am busy now..

Comes in any colour you want so long as its black.

Cruise control with two control speed settings in memory. You can set two speeds but you can alter them to suit
Plus the speed limiter . Set to whatever speed you like

same as our car.
fit it yourself Quite easy except for one connection on top of the clutch . Still that’s the last one to do .

All done will get to test it next week sometime.
the clutch wires were the hardest to get to everything else was easy.

How is your cruise control. I'm thinking of fitting one to my 2002 hymer ,ducato based,2.8 jtd.
Do you use it regularly when on uk 🤔

I have used the Ducato's speed limiter function when in long roadworks with average speed cameras, to keep under 50 mph.

I never use the cruise control function.

My 2001 ducato based van has aftermarket cruise and is great but more use abroad

I've had it on trucks but that's all, never had it on a car/motorhome and dont miss it
I'm just old school, straight from leicester to penzance in one shot relying on my right foot only....and my legs have had many surgeries after racing accidents
