Autocruise Starfire
We are going to be travelling from Calais through into Spain for the first time in March and I'm trying to obtain a Crit'air sticker. We have a 1999 Fiat Ducato Autocruise Starfire. I have however hit a stumbling block on the application form. It asks for Co2 emissions which should be found at V.7 on the V5C document but this is left blank on ours. I rang DVLA who can't help as they only have the same information as is on the logbook. Has anyone else had a similar issue and if so how did you get round it? We are not intending on visiting any of the cities listed on the permanent Clean Air Zones map as we want to get into Spain fairly quickly to spend majority of time there so would a Crit'air sticker really be needed? Any advice appreciated.

All they do is put you on a Data base that offers them an option to find you so they can fine you for some misdemeanour that you might have done whilst driving.
The administration cost for the sticker is about £4.00, they must be loosing money at this price but recoup it in fines. Just an opinion and l have passed through many of these zones with no sticker. Just saying🙂

I think my CO2 reading is on the certificate of conformity, not the V5 one this or the last van

Just upload the V5, they will base it on the age of the vehicle.

Welcome to the forum.

As others have already said upload a copy of the V5 in a file size size under their limit You can resize online through various apps. My 2018 Boxer doesn’t have a CO2 figure and was issued no problem in March last year.

What misdemeanours are you worried about getting caught doing 🤔

Your 1999 MH will be in the most poluting class so they will issue a sticker accordingly, so ignore the Co2 emissions, I did and still got one.

One is only needed if going into a permanent zone and into a temporay zone, even if not active, but is you are shooting through France to Spain you are probably not going into one. However for thr five quid or whatever just get one. It lasts for life of vehicle, or windscreen.

My thoughts exactly, tens of thousands of miles and years around France not bothering about zones and never had any comebacks… I have no stickers or toll tags of any kind except for my original uk on my number plate…😎

Just leave it blank we did for both our vans and they just get it from the manufacturer

We haven’t bothered with our 1998 RMB - most polluting class and therefore not welcome into LEZ places!
Only place we’d need one Calais to Spain would be Rouen. There’s a nice route to avoid Rouen via Yvetot or I think motorhomes can have a couple of days exemption though I’m not sure of how to request that
There’s a Green Places App which tells you where you’d need to avoid.

One cannot go into permanent zones with a 1998 vehicle, but one can go into the temporary zones if they are not promulgated as active, but one should still have a Crit'Air sticker displayed to be fully legal.

Please do not ask me about French logic.

Hi Karen,
I have just had to do this for my 2010 Fiat Ducatto based Motorhome. I needed to find my Euro rating only for the Critair, and ended up contacting Fiat (motorhomes) who investigated and emailed me the necessary info. I googles to find their phone number and got an email from this address: customerservicesengland@customercare.fcagroup.com
Hope you get it sorted 😊
