Credit card abroad.

However you do get it back within a month..
It is also illegal .It should be refunded by the end of the same day or next working day. It only appears to happen to UK cards & why I now only ever use spanish ones in auto machines as it is returned before even the actual diesel payment is taken.
My bank manager told me when I queried it the first time it happened that if it wasn't returned immediately bring the transactions in & they would institute complaints/proceedings. In Spain it is a criminal offence to do it & I would assume it quite likely is in France seeing as issuing a cheque without funds is a criminal offence.
It might appear to just be a nuisance with occasional use but if you are filling more than once a day or every day or you have aborted transactions you need to be aware that it will retain the 120€ in every case ,even the aborted ones.

If the exchange rate is good I top up my Revolute card, for ordinary cash withdrawals I use Metro Bank and for CC Halifax Clarity, spot rates are the same on all of them.

As for Revolut getting hacked no different to any other bank they all get hacked occasionally. My Tesco credit card was hacked last year, my Lloyds business account was hacked a few years ago.
agree most can get hacked at some point but the essence of the article was about how they, Revolute, responded - or didn’t. There was a big piece about them the latter part of last year.

I had a transaction that went through twice in March used their online chat and it was credited in minutes, so not all bad. However only being able to contact them via online chat is very frustrating.

With regard to Revolut I find using facebook is far quicker messaging than online chat.
