Broken most bits now
The Gas crash valve has failed and won't stay open. I've bypassed it for now so have a supply but I'd like to be able to drive with the gas on. I've searched all around the gas locker and switch and I've pulled the inside of the van apart as far as I can but can't find the black box controller. Has anybody found it lurking in an unexpected place in their van. Our is a Rapido 7065 but ii may be hidden in odd places on any van. The wire from the solenoid disappears into the front Fiat cab underfloor area under the seats and I lose it from there.

It's this type of setup and it's the black box that's hiding away somewhere.

I'd like to be able to drive with the gas on.

Can I ask why?

Are there any gas-fuelled appliances you need to have operating whilst moving?
Does it take loads of faff to turn on the gas for making tea, running the fridge / heater, something else, when you stop?

There is no ECU it is a mechanical device built into the regulator.

Perfectly safe to drive with the gas on providing you have a regulator with a crash sensor and and anti-rupture valves on the the bottles or hoses.
Only turn our gas off for ferries.

Thereā€™s definitely an ecu on certain types of crash safe regulator systems šŸ‘
Toptron is one .
It operates an electronic solenoid gas cut off too.
Itā€™s a black box as shown in the above link to the one we stock .

I could guestimate where the box might be if you know how long the wire from the solenoid to the black box is. I can trace it about 3' until it disappears under hard to remove carpet stuff so if I knew how long the cable was I could rule out a fair bit of the van.

Ours is the electronic type which is operated from a switch in the kitchen area through an electronic black box of tricks. I may replace it with a grunt mechanical version if I don't find an easy repair for the current one (y)

4 metres I believe.
The black box will me mounted flat onto the floor or a horizontal surface as it cannot be wall mounted.
