The inner Perspex window on our Motorhome Hab door has developed a 6 inch crack. The outdoor window is bonded glass and is fine.
I asked the dealer to repair it for us. Here is a copy of the reply.

Good afternoon,
We have had a quote back from the factory today in relation to your habitation door window.
Fusion will not send us a window kit only; they have quoted for a new door. The cost of this would be £3,865.00 plus VAT and fitting.

Any other options?

I've done exactly this and now it looks original.
I first of all cut the perspex with a multi tool, brand new saw blade.
I left 5mm of the original still showing in the opening. Vacuum and clean tp perfection.
I put self adhesive velcro onto the 5mm flange and wrapped it over the edge and round the back.
Acquired 3mm acrylic cut to exact size by seller and stuck with velcro.

Couple of points...... cleanliness, so critical. Get the off cuts sent with acrylic order so you can test run things.
Acrylic didn't need bending, it took the curve up itself on sticking. Cut velcro to width you require with scissors.
I was able to hide the edge with 25 x 15 mm self adhesive black foam as it tucked behind and hid.
It looks like you might have to use black silicone at the edge, use making tape for neatness.

It took me 2 easy weeks trialling slowly and getting disappointed. It was worth it.
Hop I've not bored you!

Thank you...perspex seems readily available. I will have to cut it myself because the corners are radiuses.
Just checked..its in Wickes and B N Q.
First step, get perspex. 2 get correct shape...3 make the decision:unsure:
You can get the supplier to do the corner radii ...

Not bored me… reassured me I’m on the correct pathway. Thank you!

They can’t help.. because the window is “bonded” into the door.
I repaired the cracked big side window on my Knaus, it's not difficult, see photos.

The inner and outer perspex is not perspex (fuse) welded, but glued, and can be separated with a very sharp thin Stanley knife type of blade.

I separated the inner and outer perspex relatively easily.

I took the flat inner cracked sheet to my local Perspex fabricator and he cut an identical inner sheet.

The two perspex sheets, inner and outer were then glued together using a flexible glue.

Do NOT use a glue that fuses the Perspex sheets together in case you ever have to get them apart again!!!

I did this about 18 months ago and it's perfect 👍

I repaired the big cracked side window on my Knaus, see photos.

I had the same experience, huge cost for original replacement and about €450 for a different type and look of side window that would have looked odd.

So decided to do myself. See photos.

The inner and outer perspex sheets are not perspex fuse welded together but only glued.

I used a very thin sharp blade and separated the two perspex sheets 👌

I then took the inner cracked sheet to my local perspex fabricator and he made a perfect cutout copy.

The two sheets were then glued together with a transparent flexible glue.

Do NOT use a petsoex glue that fuses the petspex sheets together in case you ever want to get them apart in the future 🥺

I did this repair about 18 months ago and it's perfect 👍🥺

Have you tried uv setting windscreen repair glue
Works very well on glass and would probably wick into crack

Further to my post on repairing a cracked inner window, I've just done the same repair on another window while in Morocco.

See attached photo where the new inner perspex sheets is being glued to the outer window with a transparent flexible silicon glue.

After placing the inner perspex sheet and outter perspex window in the correct position, the inner and outer were lightly clamped in position while the flexible silicon glue cured.

Perfect outcome 😄 👏

An interesting fact I learned on a previous thread about a cracked window you might also find quite interesting. Don't clean your window with alcohol based products. It will take the strength out of the window.

Good luck with getting the doors window fixed.

Best regards,

Clewie.
