I used a small circular grinding wheel - carborundum type, not metal, I thought that would be too harsh . It cuts easily. So like using a very small angle grinder to just edge out the crack and make it sufficient to hold the sika. I think I might have finished it off with a round pointed grinder - one shaped like a round pointy hat - to make the groove width at the top even all the way along and narrower at the bottom. My groove must be about 1.5 mm wide at the top and maybe half the depth of the acrylic. I did it last summer and it is still holding perfectly.Mine has done the same on a swift bolero 2016 .
I was wondering what attachment you used on your Dremel, as I'm thinking of doing likewise.
Don't want to replace acrylic if I can help it .
Yes, it's clearly a weakness of design as it happens to so many. There's a little spate of them on FB at the moment. My thought is that if /when I sell the van, I might change it. But I have no plans to do so.Thanks for the advice. I will definitely give it a go,
And then try to find some decals that match swift originals. If you replace the acrylic, that's only a solution, you've not solved the problem and it could happen again, and my motorhome has done less than 5000 miles

That's not a great positio. No invisible repairs there. Obviously I was lucky in the position and shape of mineMy van is 12 years old and the crack appeared last year, It may be due to a gust of wind slamming the door shut. I can't do an invisible repair as it's half way up the window and on both sides.

Where did you get the product details from? My glazing on the door is warped, I've been told it's down to the sun.I found this information on another discussion thread for another swift. The website says that the windows are made to order, so make sure you order the right one as there are no returns! The current price on their site is around £220. But now I need to chase a part number for mine.
Window is available separately if it breaks, don't listen to Swift who will try amd sell a whole door

Rather than replacing it, and assuming it is intact, would a thin bead of adhesive (Araldite?) maybe hold it back?Where did you get the product details from? My glazing on the door is warped, I've been told it's down to the sun. View attachment 1042623
Thanks, it may be worth a try. When I look underneath the sealing seems pretty poor. It should have gone in for repair next week but I have more serious problems with EGR/DPF.Rather than replacing it, and assuming it is intact, would a thin bead of adhesive (Araldite?) maybe hold it back?
