I'm sure most of you have been there, bought your motorhome then had to wait to picking it up. I put the deposit down in October and the dealer told me it will be registered on the 1st of march. So the countdown is 8 weeks today, anyone else in the same boat can join in.
Mickey.

Spent all day getting everything fitted into our new Chausson is preparation of our maiden voyage.
We also had 2 x 6kg Calor Lite bottles fitted until we can afford a Gaslow system

8 days to go! I'm filling my time buying books listing campsites, looking for upholstery fabric and generally annoying myself over the fact that we still have over a week to wait. I know you've all been there ..........

Dont buy too much before you get it.

We ended up with a spare, Smoke Alarm, CO'2 alarm, fire exitinguisher and single stereo because they supplied them all.:D

After an early morning transfer of funds, Marquis have this afternoon confirmed receipt of full payment, I've just got off the phone with Comfort and insurance is in place, so everything is ready for handover at 9am tomorrow.
It's been a hectic, but satisfying day :D

"A day getting it ready" I've spent over 3 weeks fitting bits & pieces to mine, not even thought about loading it. This is what I've been up to.

I've been 10 days so far fitting ours out, just got to run solar wires through the roof and wire to Schaudt controller, install barbi point and fit a curtain rail in the rear and fit curtains that Pat has made, then get to try the van out for first night.

Aaaaand relax :D

Very smooth handover, straight out to Newcastle to collect my awning, quick dash home to collect the hound and thankfully my builders hadn't turned up, so managed to try it on the drive, over to parent's place and home now to start getting it ready for Monday's venture to Ayr.

All you lucky people - 7 sleeps for us. It was confirmed that the current owners had the van on the ferry last night so it's actually in the UK now. Woohoo! Trying to stay calm.

Thanks for the advice Chris - just thinking about the Britstops book and a couple of "All the Aires" for the countries we want to travel in. Ours isn't a new van, only new to us, and the lovely people who are selling it to us are leaving everything that they've been using in it for us (incl. TV, microwave, waste master, levelling ramps etc.) so there's none of that kind of shopping to do right off. The interior upholstery is a bit dated though so I'm window shopping for fabric until I can measure up and hit the shops.

We've actually been crawling all over the van twice and hubby has been able to take it out for a drive around, so it's almost like waiting for an old friend to arrive.

@Cuto's, exactly like ours except we have twin singles. At the moment we are driving along the A75 in Scotland to our weekend stopover at Garlieston. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we're enjoying ours.

@Diggerdi Sounds amazing have a great time. We're keeping it local with a small trip for a couple nights at Tewkesbury Abbey site from tomorrow, taking some fizz to celebrate our first night in our first MoHo. We're going lakes and Scotland for 12 nights next month:D

I'm crossing the border on Monday, heading to Kari-Tek in Ayrshire and fortunately my passport is fine until 2021, so I'll be fine for a little while. I don't think my Malaria jabs are up to date, so I'll need to be out before the wee beasties start eating us southern softies alive :D

2 sleeps - and a few hours on the train on Thursday. Getting really excited now and thinking about having an "Outsmart the Thief" fitted ASAP when back home in Scotland. Seems an impressive piece of kit - unless, of course, anyone here can tell me otherwise .........
