Could you drive this on a normal uk driving license?

Solution2
Wayne_Lisa If you passed your driving test before January 1997, you will have the C1 category already on your licence, allowing you to drive up to a maximum weight of 7500Kgs, towing a 750Kg trailer, so a total of 8,250Kgs.
If after that date, you are restricted to a B category of 3500kgs.

HTH,

Jock. :)
The bit DVLA overlooked.....
B licence entitles use up to 3500kg....
BE allows 3500kg plus trailer but there's NO upper trailer weight listed except the vehicles train weight
Yes. This seems to be one of the sillier concessions. In my view a caravan is inherently more dangerous than a motorhome but in theory the tuggers can have a combined weight 7000kg without any need for a proper medical assessment at 70. Discrimination? I would have thought a BE combined weight of 3500kg would be more appropriate.

could you pop up a picture of the back of your photo license?
I don't have a photo licence - I'm still on my pink paper one as we have lived here since 1993 so have never needed to update it for anything, this is the bit about categories:

What you referred to above is for anyone passing a C1E post 2013
Post 2013 you only had provisional for C1E and had to take a seperate test.
Pre 1997 is restriction 107 ON YOUR Licence.
Physically check your licence for restriction 107 after the C1 entry.
I assume you meant 'pre 2013'?

This is where younger tuggers get caught out

Licences issued from 1 January 1997

If you passed your car driving test on or after 1 January 1997 you can:

  • drive a car or van up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass (MAM) towing a trailer of up to 750kg MAM
  • tow a trailer over 750kg MAM as long as the combined MAM of the trailer and towing vehicle is no more than 3,500kg

No, after 2013 you had to take a test to drive over 3500kg. That gave C1.
Then you had to take a trailer test to exceed 750kg.
That gave you C1E with a train limit of 12000kg.

In any case your licence picture is ineligible.
Text is too blurred to read.

Ah, that's why you haven't got the restriction. Keep hold of it, if at any time you swap it for a photo card you'll get a 107 on it.

What I posted related to MY licence which I got in 1983 so it was most definitely PRE 2013, are you confusing me with what someone else posted?

It still shows that categories I have on my 1983 issued licence and the earlier post image which I took off my licence 'on line' is what it means in relation to C1E.

It could well be you have a 12000kg limit as you have a pink licence.
The online comparisons don't go back that far so maybe in 1983 it was 12000kg.
Licence changes arent retrospective

The image I posted was taken off the DVLA site yesterday for MY licence as I registered and logged in to view it online specifically so I could check so the info is current, it has nothing at all to do with me having a paper licence:
