I'm an oldbie MH number 10
I have a 2020 Fiat Ducato based motorhome that I want serviced.

Its on the 9 speed gearbox and a tag axle.

I've always had my vans serviced by my local chap who never lets me down. However, due to the complexity of these things and the fact I have an issue with the Heat Exchanger that could potentially be cab based I thought I would get it done by a fiat professional. The rationale for this is so that it can be plugged in and all if any software updates from Fiat can be carried out.

My nearest Fiat Pro is of course at TW Stafford. I've been given a price of £996 including VAT which consists of 274 in parts and 700+ in labour. This is of course before the heat exchanger is investigated.

Does this sound expensive for a fiat professional garage?

Are there any others in the North West that service a ln 8m motorhome?

God knows what they will want for the cam belt when that's due.

Thats who I use. In my experience they do what they say (I did ECU dumps pre/post service and it was correctly updated and set). THe van was in the workshop for quite a long time (tracker) so wasn't rushed which also inspired confidence

Yes, I’ve had a couple of minor snagging issues on the Adria/Thetford side dealt with and the Fiat dashboard tablet holder replace by Chelston, and they’ve been prompt and very efficient in dealing with them. Based on my experience pre and post sale so far I’d have no problem recommending them.

Just had the first 2 year service on our 2022 series 8 Ducato at Motorvogue in Bury St Edmunds, who are Fiat Professional. They charged £639 which included brake fluid change.
Their hourly labour rate appears to be £145 per hour from the invoice.
I did ring a couple of different garages, but they were higher than what I paid.
Have to say, Motorvogue have been very good and seem very helpful.
That's good to hear. When they were branded Desira they were awful. There's a thread of n here with our experiences. If I need a Fist place I take it to Salmons at Weekly. However, put of warranty I go to Ipswich Truck Services who are excellent and reasonable prices.

The parts arnt made by Fiat just got their name on the box.

Filters will be Mann or similar good quality manufacturer 👍

Not sure who Fiat are supplied by with oil.
Yes, of course, but what I mean is on an expensive van I'm more than happy to pay for OE exact parts, and not what someone quote as OEM specification. And things like how can any non fiat pro garage claim to offer an equiv full service when they do not have the facilities to update the ECU software which history shows is necessary and can cause issues down the line.

Issues with full services on Ford ecoboost engines away from ford where they use the OE spec "ish" oil, but not the exact oil that (allegedly) has additional additives that helps with the life of the wet belt.

The FP place I use listed part numbers and I could not get the parts for much cheaper elsewhere. Unlike ford, where I buy genuine OE ford parts from ford places much cheaper than you'd get them for service.

The oil for mine is selenia wr forward 0w30 full synthetic oil - and needed 7L at just under £10/ litre (£68). I could not get the same anywhere for that price. Of course, other brands of 0w30 fs are cheaper, but IMO on a very expensive vehicle, with sensitive engines, and one I spent 6mths effort building - then I'm minded to ensure it has the best :)

I don't quite get why people can spend £50-100k on a van then bork at looking after it at < £1k/year?

Same on motorbike too - want an expert second set of eyes over it for saftey reasons, and happy to pay.

The car gets OE parts but only because the genuine parts are so cheap - a full service with OE parts is £120 if you DIY - and sadly I DIY this - don't want to - but ford I don't trust and charge huge amounts for labour and parts (which they will sell you cheaper, and how is it legit to charge you more at the service counter?) - and the local garage I semi-trust quoted for 4 spark plugs and politely told them if they can't get that right I can't trust them with the right oil (right grade I'm sure, but not the pedantic ecoboost version). So I swear and get oil down my arm every ***** year as whatever I try...... :D :D
