I have definitely learnt from this that my 3 way fridge uses far more electricity than I expected and we will be using it on gas at our next metered site

The bigger 3 ways use even more power than noted, so if you have a newer van with the tall fridge it's double the usage of my small dometic too.I have definitely learnt from this that my 3 way fridge uses far more electricity than I expected and we will be using it on gas at our next metered site
Depends on the sites price. Come next year, given commercial rates are lower than domestic now expect fixed rates of 25-27p (or lower if the site is on a more flexible tariff). At that price I'd use the electric on fridge, just not at 50p+I have definitely learnt from this that my 3 way fridge uses far more electricity than I expected and we will be using it on gas at our next metered site
I am looking a a CL in Fowey, never been there looks a pleasant spot for a few days. Now without EHU the hard standing pitch is £18.00 per night. But with EHU it is £36.00! !!!
They say that the price includes 15KWH of leccy. By my matriculation they are charging £1.20 per KWH. This is the most expensive hook I have seen. No doubt it will be said that they have included the daily standing charge, so 5 pitches plus owner divided by 6 would be a fair assumption of the division of the standing charge. . I am going to contact them to find out if the pitches are metered and at what rate. WTS
Pitch fee of £18 is good but £18 for electric is taking the micky.I am looking a a CL in Fowey, never been there looks a pleasant spot for a few days. Now without EHU the hard standing pitch is £18.00 per night. But with EHU it is £36.00! !!!

so the equivalent of that for 9Kwhr is 3€60 or £3.13 todayWe always used our lpg gas for the fridge in Benidorm because the electricity was 40c/kwh
No doubt the fairy lights all over the caravan awning and the big fan heaters outside have not helped.I suspect they will have been caught out by the ‘we have paid for it we will use it’ types
It would be scarily easy to use £1 / hour in normal use, add in abuse and the £18 may not cover it, even though it is possibly the highest charge in the country . At least the £18 pitch fee is reasonable
It will be interesting to hear what the site owner says
Fridge will use about a litre a day so about £0.80 to £1.00 a day if using LPG depending where you buy your gas.No doubt the fairy lights all over the caravan awning and the big fan heaters outside have not helped.
I had two nights on a metered CL last week. Our MH is 8.5m with Alde, big fridge freezer and used microwave, bill £3.00 per day at 47p . Next time I would put the fridge on gas to check the difference.
I'm the one that spent £150 on EHU (at 77p kWh) during my first week here.I suspect they will have been caught out by the ‘we have paid for it we will use it’ types

£0.79p at Morrisons Sittingbourne,Fridge will use about a litre a day so about £0.80 to £1.00 a day if using LPG depending where you buy your gas.
Well you just wouldn’t would you But there will always be some that will..but not us.I am looking a a CL in Fowey, never been there looks a pleasant spot for a few days. Now without EHU the hard standing pitch is £18.00 per night. But with EHU it is £36.00! !!!

Interesting as I have not used gas only on Alde as I was told it burns ( sorry ) a lot.But pleased with gas consumption, refilled from empty , had 6 nights in cold weather with Alde set for comfort and not used first 11kg bottle
God knows what these peoples house bills are like.Recently stayed on a CL price usually £22 pn inc elec. owner has fitted meters and dropped price to £19 pn. You check meter reading on arrival and again on leaving and calculate what you owe on the given price per unit. Interestingly we used £3 per day running 3way fridge, heating, toaster, kettle etc. the owner told me that some people are extravagant using up to £16 per day. My conclusion is they must be running 2kw fan heaters almost around the clock!
Afraid it's gone up - it's now £0.89 today when I came past.£0.79p at Morrisons Sittingbourne,
Off the pump
that is about £3 at home including the standing chargeIf your new fridge has a similar consumption to the old one that would account for 4.2 kW per 24 hours so 9kw sounds about right.
Having just spend the weekend one of the club sites I only wish the two main clubs would get all the pitches on the sites metered. With modern metering technology it is easy for the reception on the site to monitor the usage of each pitch . until this happens there is no incentive for anyone to save electricity . We have all seen the heaters in awnings being left on all night.
You should be able to replace it via the bottom vent.Reading this post make me wonder if it’s worth me replacing the 240volt element on my 3way fridge , I think it’s faulty, still have to do more checks, at £70 and all the hassle of taking the fridge out.
I would be nice but Fridge would need pulling out so far so I can get to the terminals on the controller. You should be able to replace it via the bottom vent.
