Could some kind person advise me as to the correct oil to use for my 2021 Fiat Ducato with euro 6 diesel engine automatic? As I understand it’s prudent to carry a few litres for top up as I’m told they can be quite thirsty! TIA 🐟

Good question. I use 0 W-30 ACEA C2 stop start. Interested to find out if that is correct. I have topped with approx 750cc over the last 12 months (just over 11, 000 miles), however, it was serviced during that period so may have negated a further top up.

0 - 30W C2, if still under warranty I tend to use Selenia which is what Fiat recommend, as if there is an engine problem they will anyalise the oil.

Edited: to Selenia which I think is made by Petronas.

The handbook most likely states Selenia WR FORWARD 0W-30. The full spec is shown below.

I use Shell Helix Ultra ECT C2/C3 0W-30. This meets the same ACEA C2 spec and Fiat 9.55535-GS1, 9.55535-DS1.

Adria Coral lowline
“Its viscosity grade permits to increase the fuel economy characteristics and consequently the reduction of CO2”

That statement says it all to me. It isn’t the oil I would use, but understand many will have warranty so will want to comply, and other will just do as they are told. I prefer an oil that looks after my engine, not the environment for a short time.

If it’s the 2.2 it’s this oil only. If topping up and it’s the no dipstick type only 200ml and leave it until it correctly registers in the dashboard display.

I don't think the 2.2 litre engine was around in 2021. I have a feeling it was 2023 (or late 2022).

Selenium here as well - 2022 2.2 160bhp auto.

Used just under a litre when checked at 5k miles and a minimal amount for the following 10k and counting.

Absolute beginners.
Currently running in our Euro 6 [2019] fully synth 0-w30, but now the lumps got 35k miles on it I will probably switch to a specification meeting 5-w30 full synth when my current stock runs out. P.S. barely adding a drop of oil now between services, and overfilling is not only a PIA, it's not good for the engine.

The 2.2-liter Multijet III engine was introduced to the Fiat Ducato in 2021. The 2021 model, called the New Ducato, also included other upgrades, such as a digital instrument panel,

Mines done 8k now and I’ve never added any oil between service
