Greeting All,
Just about to put a deposit on a new van which ticks every single box for us except one, there is no gas oven or grill.
We don't do a great deal of cooking but do need some means of warming up ready meals.,etc. So need to think of alternatives. We avoid EHU whenever possible. There is room for a microwave, although van has Lithium and 1800 watt inverter, I think microwave would deplete the batteries very quickly, especially during winter in the UK. Also thought of an air fryer.
Looking for ideas anyone?
Thanks
Robin

Am I going off-topic here?

Maybe not, because maybe some people are dissatisfied with their gas oven, which created the thread.

I prefer to cook on gas and our MH is fine for that, but the Dometic oven and grill are poor.

Does anyone know of a better replacement for the Dometic- same dimensions, so kitchen rebuild?

If I am off-topic I will start a new thread.

We did consider a Diesel hob, but the warm up time put us off?
? First time each day it takes around 4 minutes to warm up but then if we need to use it again that day 2 minutes and it warmed up. That’s because at 1st start up the electronics do a full system and safety check. Proof if proof was needed was that when we first started using it sometimes it worked other times it wouldn’t and we found out that it had not been installed properly by the convertor, the diesel fuel pipe wasn’t secured properly and so it moved about and the system knew when it was positioned wrongly in the cupboard.

We use the Wallas when we are off grid, on grid we can use the Remoska or the microwave or all three if Dee decides to go on a cooking bender 🥴

Why doesnt the remoska have insulation around the cooking pot for better efficiency?
I presume that because you can cook all sorts from soups and stews to bread and joints the pan will need immersive washing so cannot be insulated.
Originally it was a cheap piece of kit for Eastern European cooking but Lakeland introduced them to the UK and of course the price went up by at least double.🥴

You could make one?
insulation board, cut out a circle, make a frame to hold it all, so now the pan is removable for cleaning.

Dont understand what you are saying. My point was that my battery will drop by @ 10a when i use the air fryer .
That's the trouble with mixing up amps and amp-hours. Your battery will drop by 10Ah, not 10A. So for example you could use 100A of current for 1/10 of an hour, and that would use 100 x 1/10 = 10Ah. 100A of current at 12V means the power is 100 x 12 = 1200W, because Watts = Amps x Volts.
