Possibly looking to change the current MH TO Malibu Charming . my current MH has a three way Fridge Freezer which happily runs on GAS when not on EHU. my question is how long will an 80 litre compressor fridge run from two 80 amp Batteries , with solar without hook up. UK Current weather that is 12'c . Any ideas ?

Assume 8 hours run time, ours is rated at 45W. I think that is 30Ah. But you still have lots of other items that will use power. So in reality I’ve estimated with our 2 similar Gel batteries 2.5 days without any solar assistance.

I do not think the current temp is the important factor here... it is the hours of daylight and sunshine available to your solar to recharge.

We switch ours off overnight and never had a problem with battery life. 200 watts of solar, 2 lead acid 90ah batteries.

Yes. We had a single 90ah battery and from mid afternoon of day 1 to the morning of day three, battery dropped to 12v. 120 w solar but it was raining most of the time. This was the first time we had been without ehu in this van, so hadn’t sussed the overnight setting, although it doesn’t seem to come on overnight unless you open the door, on the ordinary setting. We changed to lithium.

Also good tip according to Malibu is to fully charge the van up at home as the alternator can’t achieve more than 75%. Only discovered this recently as we were struggling in Feb, no sun, no EHU for a week!
