clearing Litter

I'm the same when we wild camp, I try to tidy up after the tent fraternity as they always leave detritus everywhere they go but, to the letter of the law its us motorhome folks that are in the wrong.
Think about it, we arrive with on board water, waste tank & toilet contents all self contained & as long as we don't drain grey water there should be no sign that we've been there.
The last wild camp I did was in a beautiful spot but, the litter left around was disappointing, every site the tent fraternity had been displayed empty beer cans, broken bottles & the left over camp fires.
I wouldn't try to clean up a layby as the bottles the truck drivers leave are horrible, why on earth can't they have cassette toilets on these trucks?

indirectly yes as you can tell by county and district councils claiming that the cuts from government central budget is the reason for cuts
so is that yes or no then. 100% is central government and not one penny of council tax is for highways.

Haha, do you think they are worried about the drivers when they buy the trucks, it’s just the price.

My Mum always used to say "two wrongs don't make a right "
I'm afraid littering isn't just a British problem. I now live in a very beautiful part of inland southern Spain. We are largely off the tourist trail.
Each weekend and in the school holidays we have many(mostly Spanish folk) come to play, swim and picnic in and around the beautiful reservoir. No sooner has one car and it's occupants moved off leaving their litter spread around the area, than the next car load arrives and unpacks it's picnic amongst the detritus of the previous people .and yes, you've guessed it, moves off, adding their filth to that left by the previous people.
I'm sure the area is popular because it is so beautiful, so why come and defile it?!!

That's a Yes all though its the district councils job to collect council tax and distribute it to set areas at a set percentage rate the actual rate is set from central government hence the demonstrations against poll tax also set by central government. So back to the actual thread I don't bring the bags home with me I put them in the bin supplied or beside it for the local authority to collect I'm of the age where you don't pay someone to walk your dog then walk it yourself;)

I’ve been doing litter picks for a few years now. It started when we wild/free camped abroad as something to give back to the local area. I then began doing it on my morning walk at home in Sussex, almost every day. I enjoy the process & am amazed that even when walking more or less the same route at home each day I can still get a bag or two each time.
I use a picker & keep one in the van & a few at home.
Every little helps I suppose.
