You say heavily stained, does that mean you have tried soapy water and it won’t touch it? I could be tempted to try something like a snow foam.

Getting there!
Extendable wash brush and a pressure washer on low. Any vehicle shampoo should work but I’d be trying a specialist awning/canopy cleaning solution, loads available.

Since childhood!
Is that just sprayed on and agitated with a brush before rinsing off?
If you do that, make sure you wear goggles/glasses. I learned from bitter experience when spraying weed killer that it's very very easy to get nasty chemicals in your eye.

not long enough
Never had any joy cleaning stains off ours, but have had a canvas replacement which is the ultimate option

This was done under warranty so I don’t know the cost but the look and smell of ours at its worst would justify the cost to me

Being a lot more careful to clean leaves etc before putting away and drying as soon as we can if we have to we have to put away wet

I’ve used fairy liquid, car shampoo, fenwicks caravan cleaner, fenwicks awning cleaner, dettox mould and mildew remover, stardrops, you name it, I’ve tried it.
Nothing seems to bring heavily stained marks off. They all clean surface dirt off but I’ve yet to get stains out. And no sooner have I washed it, wind picks up and blows sand or dirt back on. I must admit I’ve not tried neat bleach but worried it may discolour the coloured parts as mine is blue stripes on a white background.

There are all sorts of products but I find Thule awning cleaner works well. On the underside I use a cloth and a mop and for the top I use a mop I squirt the solution on to the sponge and it takes the grime off.

The problem with some products they can affect the pvc

Unless it’s ’locked In’ which some products can do give this a try it does remove stubborn stains.

Spray some Thule awning cleaner over the entire awning and then retract it for about 15minutes for it to do its thing. This stops the cleaner from just evaporating, and allows it to come into contact with the underside. Then unwind it and give it a good old brush with more cleaner. Finally power wash it down. The trick is in winding the awning in with the cleaner on the material. 👍

Motorhoming since 2018.
Bucket of very (boiling) hot water with a good squirt of fairy liquid, extended wash brush with added elbow grease, finished off with pressure washer. That usually does the trick. Obviously you need to be fortunate enough to have a large driveway or other suitable space at home.

Hi.
At the beginning of Summer I cleaned my Thule awning, both sides with a product called Elbow grease, solvent free spray. Used a damp sponge and microfibre cloth. It also removes black streaks. Awning looks like new.
Good luck!
Clive.

enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
In Aldi today, spray awning cleaner reduced. No idea if it's any good but bought some anyway.
Have you tried it yet? Might be worth getting some if you say it 'does the job' ..

Popped into local Tesco store and bought the Dettol mold and mildew spray cleaner x 2
Tested a small area to make sure it didn’t damage the fabric all ok
Then put safety gear on gloves goggles etc and sprayed the awning top and botton
left for 10 minutes then hosed it off with plenty of clean water
Result as new awning fantastic
Oh it does contain bleach so be careful
Thx to everybody who replied
