Classic tinned motorhome food ?

Princes Stew meat, heated up and pastry (packet mix) cooked in the Ridge Monkey, Baked beans….yum!
Sweet potato (or any potato and/or Squash) and red Lentil Dahl. Supposed to be Sweet Potato and Spinach Dahl but I have made it with other ingredients when stuck!

We always carry some tinned food. M&S curries are nice, and so are some of the French cassoulets and sausages & lentils. Always bring a few home.
So convenient to prepare.

We ate through the Army’s stockpile of old ration in 1990-91. 10 man rat packs dated from the 70’s until we got posh as the dates became newer. Hated tinned pilchards in tommy sauce, whoever thought that was a good idea in the blistering heat of the desert needed a kick up the jacksee.

Just thought that in past 10 or so years, I’ve never taken eggs into the van.

My go to tins are baked beans with those little sausages in, even got some spaghetti ones, yum 😋

I hate waste and especially food waste, I don’t chuck anything out it either gets used in something or fed to the birds….

Always a clean plate and my belly pays for it…😆

Used to swop the pilchards with the Yanks, they loved em, but would give us their MRE’s (meals ready to eat, we used to call them meals rejected by Ethiopians), they were dried out rubbish and no wonder they loved the pilchards 🤢

Do you not have a ‘baby’s head’ or two tucked away in your van? ;)

Forget all your poncy stuff, a few tins of this is all that's needed.

We kee a Fray Bentos Steak & kidney pie for emergency rations. WE enjoy it, it's tasty. That JJ knows what he's talking about.
We have two in the cupboard, nice and flat. Lovely puff pastry.

Best part of a Fray Bentos pie is the ..... empty tin.. multiple uses , baking tin etc

only problem is eating it first 😂 ...
