For certain reasons (good ones though) we are actually staying in the U.K. May to July this yr instead of going to Europe. We don’t really like U.K. campsites but like CL/CS sites. I was looking for the forum members views on which I should go for as I’m bit of a tight person so don’t want the expense of joining both clubs. I’ve semi ruled out pub stops as we’re planning to stay 3 odd days at each one

We have used a dozen CL sites for different reasons and all have been fine for us and we enjoy being on quieter and smaller sites sometimes. At least 3 of them we never even saw the owners - booked, arrived, rang a bell if available, no answer, looked at field, see where we can fit and check nobody has left a marker behind, park up, hand brake on and time for a brew......... or a walk with the cats :)
With CCC one never has to have a EHU, if you don't want it! 😄
And it's usually got codes that stack. Last summer the grass no ehu option was a fully 30% below the normal price (which is usually 7 ish quid for ehu, so thinks like bank holiday stays were CL/CS type money (£25 a night) with that code.

I can never remember which is CL and which CS. I know you can tell by the placard outside. But we do intend to do more in the UK this year. We normally have a yearly travel insurance, but it is now over £630 for us so it is now cancelled, we'll pay only for the month we'll be abroad.
It's also a good tip about pitchup website
