We are thinking of a weekend away at one of the UK Christmas markets.
Going to Europe is not an option this year.
Requirements for the weekend. Overnight parking within short walking distance.

Nottinghams Christmas Market has an ice ring (not ice rink) going all around it. 10 ft in the air 🤷‍♂️🤣.
Nearest site ( I think) is Holme pierpont, a short bus ride away.

Grouse and claret pub rowsley chatsworth Christmas market bus stop outside MH parking behind pub have a look 👀

Took our car to Chester for the Christmas Market today rather than on Sunday because of the weather forecast. We parked in the P&R and I'm glad we did, the city was absolutely rammed with car parks overflowing. The city looked gorgeous in the Autumn sunshine but it was as busy as any place I've ever been, to the extent we never enjoyed the Christmas Market which to be honest felt a little disappointing. It just wasn't as good as the previous times we went.
If we haven't caught Covid today, we never will, yes it was that busy! :whistle2:

Were planning on going on Thursday. Do you think it's were the effort or should we stick to our smaller village market thing.

I think it was a wasted journey for the market but we do like Chester.
And the pubs we were in and out of the market in 20 min.
Spent the rest of the afternoon on a pub crawl with the dogs.
We're going for a meal and a few beers and leaving tomorrow for Scotland

As we are only up the road we can and do go into Chester often so thats not an issue for us.
Think we will give the market it a miss
The pub crawl sounds so much better.
Safe trip tomorrow.

We were planning to go to the Chester market as we live just down the road and could leave the dogs at home, but don't think we'll bother now.

Going Friday..meal and beers booked at the racecourse 1539 restaurant Fri Eve...market sat and home late sat.
All Xmas markets are rubbish to me..so won't make no diff...I'm only ere for the beer 🍺

The thread as a whole has made our decision not to go, and has been helped by the weather being so foul!
Not so fussed about pubs as I rarely drink anyway. We'll wait until we get our van and then go to one another year.
