After the Hereford rally we had a mission to find somewhere for our Christmas day lunch as we are travelling from the northwest down to the south coast to catch a ferry to northern Spain. (When Brittany ferries release the December dates)
I had booked the camc site in Cirencester arriving on Christmas eve but we needed to choose a restaurant for Christmas day.
Sorted.
We have now booked "The Fleece" in the centre of town after a lovely meal was had the other night.
We did have an open invite to his sisters but wanted to get down country for our ferry.

We've not "done" Christmas day for years. For us it's just another day to get through whilst being told we "should" be celebrating some obscene intake of far too much food.

We don't "do" birthdays either. We buy things we want/need when we want/need them.)

Do we feel hard done by? Do we heckaslike (that could be Yorkiespeak btw).

We live our lives to the best of our abilities, daily. One day a year that "should" be a special day, means nothing to us. We don't need telling when to celebrate šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

To be fair we used to do all the singing and dancing. We try to be in the sun for Christmas but it's not going to happen unless we fly and thats not an option this year.
So it's blighty for Christmas and hopefully the costas for new year šŸ™‚šŸ™‚

Having had all our 3 children and their partners and 5 grandkids last year at home ( absolutely wonderful ) they are all off to other parents this year. So Helen and I are off cruising with ā€œFredā€ from Liverpool to the Canaries and Lisbon. Xmas at sea, which should be fantastic and New Year fireworks in Lisbon. Xmas jumper selected!!

Xmas in Stoke with stepson & his wife, thereafter heading south through France to Spain ending up in Oualidia in Morocco sometime mid to late January. Still looking for a good beach fishing spot in Morocco. Sea is too wild at Oualidia. Several of us tried it there last year & gave up.
