Christmas and New year

To Quote meanders - New Year in rural Suffolk

Two years ago we joined an informal New Year Rally in Butley Village Hall with some local tuggers and a handful of Funsters and I think a good time was had by all.

We are looking at running it again this this year from Tuesday 30th December to Sunday 4th January, but since the hall has been partially refurbished, costs have increased and the the whole thing will be about £50 including camping and use of the hall throughout, plus all entertainment. The break-even point is therefore about 15 units after which the cost will drop.

If you are interested, please post here, or PM us. If we can get to the 15 definitely interested, it will run. A small deposit will be requested later in the summer as we will have to pay a deposit to the hall and the NYE entertainment.

The hall has had the kitchen completely refitted, is now better insulated and heated, and double gazing has been installed, so we will should not need the vacuum squeegees this year.

Best wishes ...... Robin

This year North Central Region will be holding a New year party at Oswestry Showground.

The event will take place between Monday December 29th and Friday 2nd January 2015.

A minimum of 3 days must be booked with New Years Eve to be included, with the option of staying on for the extra day either before or after depending on your circumstances and how much you have partied the night before.

There will be Hook -Up available as well as hard standing just incase we get a covering of snow to make it even more festive.

Cost of the meet will be £50 for the 3 day booking with £10 for the extra night, this will include your EHU.
Extra Adults, staying in your unit, will be charged £10 for the meet

For the more hardy amongst you there is the option of camping without EHU and the fees for this will be £44 for the 3 days and £8 for the extra night should you feel the need to extend your stay.

Hogmanay will be full of music, laughter and an American Supper to keep you in the mood til the chimes ring out and we welcome in 2015

EHU Booking will be on a first come basis and will be limited to 50 units, sorry only 50 Hook-Ups available. However all are welcome to come and see the New Year in with North Central Region.
Long leads are required for the hook ups. Please dont forget your domestic plug attachments as the site mainly uses this type of fitting (tail with the domestic plug attached)

Sorry sleep e carr,

The Autoroute Aires are not the safest of places to be stopping off overnight. :( Many folks (including fellow Funsters) have been targeted whilst overnighting at these service areas. The town and village Aires are a much safer option.

Regards,

Jock.

We allowed a week, when we went last December and got to Albufeira on Day 6. Didn't rush at all and didn't go on motorways once we were out of France. Could have got there on Day 5 actually but there was no need to dash.

Been at Algarve motorhome parking Falesia for just over a week now.
Beautiful place, 500 metres from a fantastic beach, €8 per night inc. 6 amp hook up.
Definitely staying for Christmas & New year. Booked in at bar restaurant about a 5 minute walk away for New Years Eve.
The entire thing(France & Spain included) has worked out better than we had imagined, it's obvious to us now why so many people do it(y)
Not very keen on Spain but love France & Portugal:D
