Chinese Track 7” SatNav

I have only seen the .FDS file in the latest 2021q2 update so if you have not loaded that update then you should have nothing to delete. The .fds will reside in the primo/contents/map folder along with the rest of the files for each country. When you update to 2021q2 donot copy the country .fds files to the satnav.

The files are quite large 215mb for the UK almost double the map storge requirement and will soon exhaust the 8gb on board storage fo the sat nav. I always use a 16gb SD card now and change the navi path unit to point to the sd card. You need to have the whole of the Primo folder copied from the sat nav to the SD card, then update then maps on the card.
Thank You.
Now all good, I downloaded the2021Q2 with the .fds files but after your message about it, I deleted the .fds file of each counter, it save big chunk of space on the SD card, I am now using 16GB SD card.

Just did the first drive using the Chinese SatNav with the latest 2021 Q2 maps.
The SatNav lost the roads all the time and changed the routes, quite often appeared that I am off road and even when reached the destination the SatNav was still showing that destination on a parallel road and want to drive there along strange route, Complete Mess!!!
Can someone advice what need to do to sort this mess? (Calibration?)
Thanks

Not tried the 2021 files yet ,so cannot comment :( hope you get it sorted.

Updated our mapping from the Facebook Forum. All Europe, USA, and Australia, New Zealand and others on a 32gb sd , Did not want to work so put it all on a 16gb sd. Works fine.
Only date shows wrong, But there is a update to fix this which is the mapping on the tablet.

Ive been using the 2021q2 maps for several weeks in 2 diffent devices and have not had the problems you describe. What unit are you using?

The 4gb one I showed you was very old and not sure it would work on the newer updates even with a 16 GB card it will just keep crashing I suspect as the internal memory is probably only 128Mb.
My others are 8 GB and I think I will need to replace one of them with a higher spec/ memory one
Are you sure yours is up to the mark.?

I don’t know, it was working well till I updated the maps to 2021Q2.
I had problems in the last few days, after the update, of the SatNav took very long time to connect to the satellites, but today it’s worked, I may try few more drives, with hope that it may settle with the satellites.
When I put a destination and press go, it’s showing the one of correct routes and the destination flag is in the right place, but when drive it’s getting chaotic, I think it’s due to the connection to the satellites, not sure how many columns, in GPS information screen it need to locate for good navigation?

The Photo taken in door, not getting the Satellites.

Never used those , just the navigation icon. Found tonight that just by pressing the time display on the sat Nav that it reset to correct time.

On the first picture there is a GPS info button. If you select this you will see if the unit is seeing the satellites if it is then there is a disconnect between the sat nav software and the unit. If it is not seeing the satellites then try the reset button on this page to reset the receiver.

I think that I pressed by mistake the Calibration 2-3 days ago, maybe that mess the GPS?

That is for calibrating the screen to ensure that the area you are touching is correctly recognised. It should not affect the gps.

A bit of relief, now I need to find how to sort the navigation mess.

The last time that happened to me, (older unit only), I went into settings to find that it was set for off road. I unchecked the box, and the routing worked fine afterwards.

That really is an old looking unit you are using, and is only 4Gb. Most of Western Europe alone is more than 4Gb. I have had better success with units of 8Gb and 256Mb of RAM, or higher.

Like lunarman John, I too have put everything on a 16Gb SD card before, and operated the unit from that via the Navi Path setting, but you must turn the unit off once done, and back on again for it to work properly.

Re the number of satellites, if not all, then certainly most of that graph should be filled, but to varying degrees of signal strength.
Also, you need to be aware that some windscreens, eg, with heater elements, are capable of blocking or reducing the satellite signals, as can the overhead luton area of a coach built MH too. :(

Thank you Jock, I will check the points you raised.
I am using 16GB SD.
I did the try drive in my car, the SatNav where lower then the dashboard and the windscreen have heater elements. Will try again when SatNav more expos to the satellites.

So far so Good, had few drives and the SatNav did good job on Car profile and on Lorry profile, the only issue when used the Lorry profile, for my Motorhome 4.5T (SatNav since 2014) when a road had weight restriction of limit 7.5T, the SatNav avoid turning to this restricted road.
Are the new XGODY SatNav have a specific Motorhome profile?

Have you set the dimensions and weight of your MH into the lorry profile?

Try going into settings, and change the weight and dimensions to what you need.

In car mode, I enter the same dimensions, but insert a weight of 3.49T, so that I am not diverted away from 3.5T commercial vehicle restrictions abroad.

Not that I am aware of.

Edited..........Just seen John's reply above. (y)

Thanks, my MoHo is 4.5T and that what I put with the measurements on to a Lorry profile.

The reason I use Truck mode here in the UK, is because the route offered is more often than not, the route I would have chosen myself as an HGV driver, for our large MH. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Logical, that’s what I use to do since 2014 and was ignoring the 7.5T restrictions.
