On Caddy, check under the rear bench seat for the fuel sender. You should have a pick up there, or at least access the pipes.

Thanks Raul

It’s an older Caddy SWB van.

Looks like all fuel lines run from top of tank to engine bay under the van.

Done some searching but couldn’t find an aftermarket adapter like Gromett linked to.

Results just seem to be about Vivaro and it’s sister vans.

Those are not specific vivaro quick disconnects. They are industry standard. I believe most if not all manufacturers use them.

What make, model and year is your vehicle. I will see if I can find out for you. If not you will probably have to look at the van itself to find a suitable point to see if there are those style of connectors.
I know they were around from 2009 and perhaps before?

Gromett

It’s a 2004 VW Caddy SWB van 1.9tdi.

Any help would be great as I’m not keen on drilling the tank to be honest.

I was thinking it was van specific 🙄

On my tank , which is on a Peugeot base there is an inspection cover with all the pipework going into the top of the tank. There is an elbow which I believe is a breather pipe and can be pulled out ( held in place with a short bolt) and replaced. I put my fuel pipe off take for my deisel heater through this. (y)
Check if your fuel tank has a top inspection type cover

Just did a quick search and it looks like they use soft pipe and barbed fittings? I think perhaps it was from before the standarised quick release ones but I quite possibly wrong on this.

Oh, the next page I looked at I found this; Not exactly the right van I suspect. But I doubt they used different connectors?

PLEASE NOTE: I am not saying this is the right one. But it appears in 2004 VW did indeed use this type of connector. So it may be possible.

Gromett youre a star.

Next time she’s over I’ll have a dig around her van and see what I can find.
Hopefully I’ll find that connector and all will be good.

I understand what that the one you’ve linked may not be the correct one but you’ve put me in the right direction.

I have to admit I was getting nowhere fast.
Once again Thankyou will report back with findings.

They are used on my '05 Mondeo so certainly back that far.

If it works for you, can you let us know what make/model van you have and which adapter you used and the location?
May be useful information for others? Thanks (y)
Sprinter W907 (2018+)

Finally got around to trying this out, short answer - doesn't work.

Longer answer, there is a similar easily accessible fuel return connection (Blue in colour) just in front of the fuel tank. The diameter of the fuel line is however about 1mm more than the Vivaro so the T-connector doesn't fit. I've had a search around the net but can't find a connection to fit the Merc, does anyone know the correct name for this type of fitting?

Cheers
Red.

Did you make any progress on this by any chance?
