Check Engine Warning Light and Limp Mode

6k the one Jimmy O’Reilly uses. I looked and then settled for the cheap one. 😆
Yep I know crazy.

The pro elite is on offer £356 as oppose to £530 ish. Bi directional. I asked launch about the boxer and adblue countdown reset. They said yes it will 👍👍

There's a Fiat trick of switching engine off and back on again (rev to alternator starts charging) 5 times. Sometimes clears a temporary fault. Don't know if it will work with a Peugeot, or maybe there's another similar method.
Thanks TerryL, your are right. This was suggested by one of my recovery teams and it does work. It gets it out of limp mode for a while but it always comes back. I'll keep searching

Don't see what replacing the battery had to do with it!

I've not read it fully but there is a similar thread here -
Thanks for this VXman. Like you I thought changing the battery was a bit odd but it was recommended by the garage I use for all my car servicing so I've got to take it seriously. The van is 12 years old and it's the original battery so it could do with a new one anyway. At £134 it's a lot cheaper than serious fuel injector repairs.
But your link to the other thread was much more interesting. Sounds just like my problem and I also do very little mileage and it hardly ever goes out. I mean, 28,000 miles in 12 years.......... ! Some fuel additive and a belt up the A1M won't hurt.
Thanks again

Hi, a Newbie just joined - if I'm honest, in desperation. I have a 2012 Bailey Approach 745 with a Peugeot Boxer Cab. Last May the Check Engine warning light came on and the engine went into limp mode (on the M6). I got recovered to Services but when the OBD code reader was put on there was no fault. I carried on the rst of the holiday with no problem. I got a full service straight away all the filters changed etc. Since then after 4 more trips away this has reoccurred twice. Each time it gets stuck in limp mode and I have to get recovered. Each time there is no fault when I get home, the light goes off and we continue normally till the next time ??
Whoever recovers me usually says there's probably either an intermittent fault or faulty sensor. But how do I find it ?
Anyone seen this before or got any suggestions or ideas ?
Not sure if this applies to 2012 Peugot, currently Peugeot share many parts with Fiat. I have a Ducato, when my engine light came on for no reason I knew of, I found that If whilst the engine is stopped (not running)I put the accelerator to the floor then press the brake pedal hard 12 times, when I turn ignition on all warning lights are reset. This does NOT fix any problems but if the warning light stays off , all seems well, if there is a problem warning light comes on pretty quick, you need breakdown help.
I do not understand what happens, it has worked for me both ways satisfactorly. Good Luck white elephant

My 2012 Bailey 740 went into limp mode a few weeks before a planned trip to Norway. After a couple of local garages attempted fixes of a supposedly burnt out 5th injector and other bits at a cost of £1000+, and an auto electrician they brought in to help failed to find the fault it went to a Peugeot main dealer who replaced a relay at £16 plus labour.
