As the sink plug fitted to my Adria, a cheap thin plastic, costs over £30, I may have found a replacement for £3.75. I Googled 'Hymer sink waste basket' and found them on Ebay. I have yet to prove they are what I need but they look very promissing. Has anyone else tried them as they look too good to be true.

Have you got the ebay number? I can't find them.

Geoff

No number on the page or item, the query was to find "Hymer sink waste basket" and there are more than a dozen various replacement plugs. i have not yet tried any out but will.

I did same search it says none found I doubt these will fit

There are a couple of the Hymer basket type on ebay, they look as though they may have been 3D printed, but around £8 each. Do you have space around the plug hole for the silicon disc type. I find them good and quite reasonably priced.

Thanks Lenny. I have also been looking at this called Hymer Motorhome basket silver on Ebay... Still looking.

I've just paid the (very) silly price for the Smev plug basket from Brownhills*, to replace the plug in a Carthago. Don't know about the diameter of the many offers on eBay, but they seem to have a downward-pointing spindle, which I doubt is compatible with the Smev fitting. I guess you could cut it off?

*I'm actually grateful to have found that one - the best bet I'd found before that was nearly twice the price, for a complete Carthago sink waste and plug assembly from goeuropeanshop.co.uk.

That is the ones used in the sinks in older vans and still used for shower outlets, normally they are grey.

Those look like 90mm basket type for domestic sink.

When mine fell to bits I replaced the waste and trap with domestic type. Been in about 4 years now, but it does involve rubber sink plug.

Cheaper to replace the complete drain, trap, strainer and plug

I always try my favourite shop: https://www.jacksonsofoldarley.co.uk/products/end-cap-rivet-92509-005
I got a plug for my Hobby from there, £1.50 which I think is reasonable. If I couldn't find a plug I would just srill the hole out to small domestic size and fit a standard domestic wash basin sized plug and drain.
I'm probably getting a Hymer so I might come across this problem which I assume is either you have lost it or it has disintegrated.
