Chausson 640

Newbie
We ordered a Chausson 640 in February which the dealer had on pre order. I have been concerned about delivery delays, but apparently Chausson have said that their May builds on Ford will happen. Has anyone experience of a recent delivery or expecting one soon?

We went and looked there first but the exact same van was £7k more, given the way they were all going up everywhere Lowdhams price was good. But if Tyne Valley are good on warranty stuff, I will definitely bear that in mind. I’m hoping our van has no problems!
I think you will be lucky if they sort out warranty work on a van purchased elsewhere most dealers are very reluctant or refuse to. Warranty work on motorhomes isn't the same as on cars I don't think the dealers are required to provide it on vehicles they haven't sold. You might find a service agent like Cannock who don't sell vehicles themselves but I'm not sure how many there are.

We ordered our 640 in January for a July delivery (our choice) we reckon probs August, as the dealer is still saying 'July'
No bother to us as we will have quit work at the start of July! :giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle:

I bet you can’t wait - really admire people who are willing to do full time! We definitely hope to do some long trips eventually.

Cheers, we have had enough of working not getting enough back for what we put in.
Our time now!
I’m sure we will have some issues along the way but it will be part of the adventure! 🤪😎💪🏻💪🏻

I think the deliveries are slowly coming though , but they are coming. We were promised April/May for our new Chausson we ordered in February at the NEC ( but I think they had pre ordered which helps) and we pick up next week so all things considered that are outside of dealer control we’re happy.

Received notification that our 630 has arrived in the UK, has passed through customs and should be ready for collection from 1st July. We agreed purchase end of Feb this year - it had already been pre-ordered by dealer.

We were similar, ordered Feb just before NEC Motorhome show, but a pre order the dealer had. Good to know you are getting dates for your Chausson’s. Mind you if your arranged date is 1st July, that isn’t looking good for my hope of 30th June. It’s nit in the hands of the dealers, I feel for the,. They aren’t making money until they deliver. bexleyjohn muddygig are yours on Ford and/or from Lowdhams?

Our 630 is on a 170 Ford auto. Currently have a Dethleffs on a Fiat 2.3 150 Manual. I know nothing about Chausson and very little about the Ford Auto. But then I knew nothing about the Dethleffs which we’ve had for 6 years from new and it’s been great but now want more circulation room as fixed double bed in Dethleffs though very comfortable, means everything else is a bit cramped. Have had no problems with the Fiat and had timing belt changed at 5-year service.
Buying the Chausson from TC Motorhomes in Kent who “so far” have been great. Their review ratings are superb so hope it stays that way.

This is our first motorhome, we hired a few and are hoping we chose wisely. It’s a 640 we are waiting for. It’s great to see that some Chausson’s are coming through now. I hope you really enjoy it, and ours arrives soon :-)

Hi , Ours is a Ford auto ( I think they all are going to be Ford from now on) and from Emm Bee.

We’re still waiting on ours, a 788 on a Ford, ordered at the motorhome show in Feb.

At the time of order they said it would be a 9 month wait.

One piece of advice I’ve had is to check your dealer is a Ford registered servicing agent. Ours isn’t so we need to find a ford dealer near to us for the engine and chassis service.

How that pans out in terms of guarantees from our dealer because under the consumer rights act 2015 because we didn’t buy from ford we have yet to determine.

None of the Moho builders make spares or service consumables so why should they involved in servicing the engine or chassis?
They need to stop hiding behind the “you will invalidate the Guarantee”

It wasn't a problem on our ford I just made sure we were registered with ford for recalls etc as the dealers won't do it for you. The vehicle bit in terms of warranty seems a lot more straightforward than the hab side.
