Hi the van has been parked up for a couple of months. When we went in to get it ready for a trip there is no 12v on inspection the 5amp fuse had blown in the boite de sécurité hubby replaced it and it blew again. Two fairly new leisure batteries are showing fully charged but obviously no power to control board. Tried disconnecting the control board and the fuse still blows. Anyone got any ideas what to try next? Thanks

The 5A fuse protects the low current input of the relay, that triggers the coil. Typically it is the D+ (engine running) signal that comes from the alternator. Looks like something is shorting between the low current input and the negative (ground). It could be a failed relay coil that's shorting. Or maybe the diode has failed, and is shorting.

The diode's function is to suppress the voltage spike that occurs when the power to the coil is disconnected. A resistance reading across the diode should show the coil resistance whichever way round the meter is connected. If it shows a very low resistance short, then either the relay coil or the diode has failed. Difficult to distinguish between them without unsoldering at least one end of the diode. Sorry, can't be more help without a meter.

Thank you we will take a look

There's not many bits inside that relay box, it's not complex, I'd be tempted to just buy another one and replace the one that doesn't work. Not especially expensive, compared with the cost of fault-finding and repair if you have to pay someone to do that. Something like this:

Hi again. We have had the van with a specialist this morning 180euros later he ´thinks’ it’s a problem with the cable shorting between the control panel and fuse board it’s a CBE control panel PC150TR and CBE fuse board DS300TR. Does anyone know where I can source a replacement cable and also how to run the new cable through it seems to disappear into the van body. Thanks
