Always use Dutch locks - my Moustache bike came with one, OH’s Kalkhoff didn’t and it was quite challenging to find the correct one to fit. Over and above that we use an Abus chain. The time I’m most concerned is on the back of the PVC … we have an alarm loop but sometimes I think I hear prowlers at night and make OH get up to check

They have to be a minimum of Gold standard for the insurance I have just taken out. £18 a month for both bikes with Sunday insurance.

Put mine on the house insurance as individual bike. You may find this a better option in future.
They insist on gold lock and proof of lock purchase
Other than than that better / equal to 'specialist insurance'

Anything that is needed for insurance will be quite common = people know how to get around it quickly. There’s insurance required and then there’s just making it far less appealing to pinch like just adding more locks, all take some amount of time to cut/grind and of course parking next to more appealing bikes that are less well protected is a good tactic. Then you can make it hard to take away, ie removing pedals and locking on brakes, all a hassle for you to do but make the bike very hard to move and as we’re talking ebike then carrying a 20-25kg unit isn’t so easy. On some e-bikes the motor locks if the bike is locked via app and they alarm, again just making them less appealing.

For shat it's worth, I have an Abus wheel/frame lock on all my bikes (titanium road bike included). Can never forget the key, can't be ridden off if left outside a shop for a few minutes (hence the somewhat derogatory term used here for them - "nurses' locks"). A metre long 1cm link chain plugs into all of them. Nothing's thief-proof, but so far so good...

You need to buy a lock that allows your e-bikes to be insured. Most insurance companies want a Sold Secure Gold level attached to an immovable object, so if stolen you can claim on your insurance. These locks are typically £100 in the UK. If you go to https://www.soldsecure.com/ They will tell you what level the lock is. Hope this helps.

We have these, they are Bicycle Secure Gold standard to satisfy the insurers (not the cables only the shackles) and I can testify that they make a hell of a racket when messed with

Depends on the value of your bike most insurance companies look for gold or diamond standard. Whilst all locks can be cut a diamond lock will take multiple discs to get through. You pay your money and take your choice. https://hiplok.com/product/hiplok-d1000/

Try Litelock. I used them on my motorbike, and they do a lighter weight version for push bikes.

Probably been said elsewhere in the post [Sold-Secure advice noted] but two comments:
1. Spend about 10% of the bikes' value on the lock(s)
2. Get an alarm too

Kryptonite Chain and D Lock for our 2 bikes. Chain gives flexibility as it is longer. Check your insurance to see what types of lock are needed.
