I've got similar stuff in my garage, spare wheel, scooter (130kg) & one mountain bike. All heavy stuff mounted forward as in your pic.

My rear axle is rated at 2400kg (4250kg MAM). Close to the limit when fully loaded on the rear axle.

The 3850kg MAM upgrade is only a paper exercise...the permissable load on the rear axle remains the same as the 3500kg MAM.

You need to upgrade the permissable axle load on the rear axle to at least 2400kg, assuming the basic chassis is capable of such an upgrade ???

The light chassis can only go to 2240kg on the rear axle which will need semi air or full air on the rear £2000/£4000.
If on 15" wheels tyres will need changing to 225 profile.

Yes always research what you will be carrying before you buy, we can never overload our little 6.48 metre van garage, last time I weighed it there was over 900kg spare😀

Hi there it’s a 40 heavy chassis with 225/75/16 tyres , with goldsmit updated struts 👍

The photos of the plates you posted the Al-Ko & Fiat are for a light chassis. 16" wheels are an option on the light chassis, the struts are the front struts.
You should have two other plates the Carthago one is normally in the stepwell by the driver's door and there will be an Al-Ko one on the side of the chassis on the RHS in front of the axle.

The last plate fitted takes priority which will be the Carthago one, which should tie up with the V5. With those Fiat & Al-ko plates it's got to be on the light chassis.

What's the motorbike? It looks pretty chunky in the pics. My 138 is 1600/1880 in fighting trim which includes 2 E-bikes, so although a bit spare on the rear axle, I'm up against the 3500 overall limit unless I start running with minimal water.

That is the Light chassis max rear axle load 2000 kg.
Can be uprated to 2240 with the addition of semi or full air.

Have you just got a spare tyre rather than a full spare wheel, i’m assuming you have because of the weight saving but i’ve often wondered what do you do if you need to change a wheel?

Al 👍
We carry a tyre rather than a full wheel and have to notify rescue services and they say they will send a van out with a tyre replacement kit. Luckily we have not had to test this.

The van is of an age this year where all the tyres will need to be changed due to age and we will check which is the best tyre to keep as a spare.

This is plate
I'm afraid to say that I suspected you were still on the original axle capacities so regardless of being 3850kg you still have a limit on the rear axle of 2000kg and I know from our own shorter Carthago that you are going to be a fair bit over the rear axle capacity even more so if you put water in - we were close with a few bits in the garage and a full 150L fresh water tank so with the extra length I can't see how you can be within it. You need to get it weight in full trim and then decide what you want to take.

Just a warning in case you're thinking of increase your rear axle to 2240kg as we did (ie extra 240kg) as it cost £2,000 for semi-air on the rear in 2019.

No I'm afraid you have the light chassis, if it was the heavy chassis the front axle would have been 2000kg when produced by Fiat so it's definitely a light one, sorry.
