Cartago Newbie

LHD or RHD they’re the same width.
I personally would rather thanLHD.
If you regularly travel in Europe, I agree. RHD on the other side of the channel is more of a hindrance than LHD is here.

If I was getting a free Cartago, I certainly wouldn't stress about it being LHD. 😁

Hi Chris, welcome to the fun house! 🤪

Tell us which one you've got then ... we've got a 2019 Carthago C-Compactline i-138 (the shortest one they do) and we love it.

As you've only got one more 'free' post left use it wisely however I can highly recommend joining for £20 a year as the amount of help and knowledge you'll get for that is immeasurable, you'll be able to access the stuff in the resources section free of charge then and some of it should be very useful to you.

PS, it's Carthago, although I believe it's pronounced Cart-ago so not your not totally wrong. :giggle:
Hi I have the same motor home only mine is 2015 and LHD . I see you are from East Yorkshire . My home town is Hull but I have not lived there for many years . My brother who has given me this motor home is still up in East Yorkshire

Yup, from Hull, born off Greenwood Avenue and moved to Setting Dyke estate when I was 2, now in the 'posh' largest village in England (allegedly!) up the road!

You must mean Cottingham ! My mum lived there for years now in a home unfortunately.
I went to Endyke Lane junior school , we moved to Cottingham when I was about 13. Brother gone really posh and is just outside Beverley .

LHD is our favourite. Great for touring Europe etc and then 'hug the kerb' when you get back to Blighty. LHD is easier with a co-pilot as certain junctions make it slightly harder to see clearly so a spotter is beneficial.
Other than a couple of junctions, LHD is OK. Loads of lorries on our roads are EU registered and they are doing the same as you, just at 8ft wide and 40 tonnes! The Compactline is a super, quality, narrow van and they drive really well.
:h:(y)

Yup! When I was 18 I started work at the University permanently and in one of the subsequent jobs there the office manager (polite name for her!) was always going on about going to 'the village', living in 'the village' ... she'd have been gutted that I as a mere 'pleb' eventually moved there! She once bragged about paying £18 each for rolls of wallpaper (cost then was about £3 a roll for a good standard one) as she thought it showed how posh she was ... we all though to ourselves that she was a pillock for paying so much, none of us were keen on the design so didn't immediately give the 'wow' response she wanted, although we didn't say it she obviously realised we weren't that impressed and told use we were 'jealous' because we couldn't afford it ... no, we all had more sense!

As for Beverley ... Norwood I assume?

Bit further out , Walkington! Always was considered very posh when I was young! When I go home to visit Mum I find Cottingham very vibrant and a wide variety of shops. love Beverley too. Looking forward to getting out and about in the motor home in 2023.

I fitted a Fresnel screen on the passenger window.
