Caravan & motorhome club

Yes we will be renewing again this year. I’m not grumbling about a small yearly increase in the C&M Club subs because their helpful staff will expect a small increase in pay to keep in line with the cost of living and the same for the many contractors who carry out repairs and work on their many sites. Any overcharging will be highlighted in the Club’s Accounts published each year for everyone to view later in the year.

They call it The Caravan & Motorhome club but it is still “The Caravan Club. They are really not interested in providing touring pitches for 1 or 2 nights stay which is what motorhomes want. We don’t want to book a seasonal pitch or book 1 year in advance, we want to be able to tour around. All the while you have half the site occupied by empty caravans on seasonal pitches it won’t change, you can rename the club to whatever you like but it is still predominantly slanted towards caravans.
The facilities are very good albeit getting expensive especially if you take into account the annual membership.

The club is providing more sites with motorhome facilities with drive-over dump points, so they are investing heavily on motorhome owning members. Caravan members may be saying they are now slanted toward motorhomes.

CLs are ideal for touring.. no need to book, are rarely full off season. You can stay from 1 to 28 nights, many now have EHU and hard standings with an average price about £10 - £14 with EHU.. ..and over 2,000 to choose from..what's not to like? That is what we used with the motorhome and now caravan .. We also use big sites when they are in the location we want to be, for example, New England bay site is fantastic.. wonderful location with fantastic facilities.

Jim they have 1700 seasonal pitches according to web site.

sorry, , I misunderstood, my mistake I thought it was about storing caravans on pitches, teach me to read more carefully :xdoh:

Empty vans on season pitches are still paid for, and they have to be vacated for 48 hours every 21 days, so there will be days when they are empty., and there are a limited number of season pitches on sites that allow them.

Have amended my post and deleted that comment. thanks
