*Cancelled* Stratford Adventure Overland, International Campervan & Landylive Shows "Meet" 15-21 September 2020

Yippee - a good mix of lovely Funsters & great to see some new members too! :dance2:
We are a bit excited as just had an email which gives an idea of what has now been approved by all the relevant authorities to take place at the Shows (y) It was great value basic camping but now much, much more :)
Can those booked check your email to see if you have this latest info. titled "event info." ?
Will post highlights on here too in due course.

UPDATE - there will be toilets, showers, entertainment & food plus they are going above & beyond Government guidelines to make it as safe as possible for all :
"In conjunction with a specialist company who are responsible for the Risk Assessments at Excel in London and Reading Music Festival, 30+ hours have been spent compiling Covid Secure Risk Assessments for the district/county councils, police, fire, Public Health England and the Highways Agency (plus numerous other bodies) in order to get the green light for the show to go ahead. Measures include social distancing via wider walkways, uncluttered trade stand layout, 6m grid pattern for campers, Covid Aware signage, sanitiser stations throughout, hourly toilet/shower cleaning & sanitising, even a Covid Secure Beer Tent!

Now in its 9th year, the Adventure Overland Show has in the past mainly featured 4WD vehicles and adventure motorcycles, but now it’s being joined over the same weekend at the same venue by the International Campervan Show featuring mainly 2WD vehicles. In actual fact the two shows will blend into one as trade stands will feature vehicle conversions, accessories, camping gear spanning all makes and type of vehicle – regardless of the powertrain! The bushcraft scene will also be represented.

New to the event is Truck Pulling. As seen in the World’s Strongest Man competition, as part of Ryan Tbo Linley’s monstrous challenge “30 TRUCKS ~ 30 TRUCKS ~ 30 METRES” in aid of the excellent Make a Wish charity, Ryan will be attempting three pulls during the course of the show. If you want to sponsor Ryan go to www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ryanthelion

Due to Covid precautions, we will still have a programme of free-to-attend seminars, only these will now be held outdoors with the audience seated in covered, tiered seating (exactly the same as when we travel, we have to adapt). The confirmed schedule of speakers and timings will soon be available on the event websites and from Check-in upon arrival.

A real must is the Severn Cider ‘Covid Secure’ Beer Tent featuring evening entertainment Fri & Sat nights. Please support the bar and the World Food Court as they are the heart of the show. Hot foods include Greek Souvlaki, Thai, Polish, Italian pizza, Indian, plus good ol’ favourites such as Fish & Chips, Pie ‘n’ Mash and breakfast/all day toasties. Food stalls open until midnight + breakfasts to help with the hangover!

Beer tent Fri night – back by popular demand are 8 Ball Joe who rock the place, a brilliant covers band “Fallen Angels” perform Saturday night. So popular was the beer tent at the Adventure Overland ‘Late Summer’ Show last September, we’ve had to extend the marquee to accommodate the expected throng … see you there! Also in the Acoustic Marquee both professional and amateur musicians will be performing, developing into a jam session as the evening goes on, so by all means bring your musical instrument and join in!"

I would imagine this offer is focused on the show and allowing people to arrive earlier. If you’re not booked into the show, you will be general admittance, so need to book on the main campsite. Just google and there is a basic webpage for the Stratford Racecourse Camping but you need to call to book.

The £10 PUPN Tuesday-Thursday nights camping are only for those who have also booked for the weekend. Don't know if the Racecourse campsite <Broken link removed> (from £17 per night) that Carpmart mentioned is open then but suggest calling them if you know someone who wants this - it is not the same area that the Shows use for camping as we will be camped in the middle of the race track.
