Can I take you up the Findhorn valley again Bev? Ooh yes, whenever you like šŸ˜

Findhorn Motorhome Aire/Parking with ANPR barrier and payment system was very much welcomed and appreciated by many when it 1st opened with water and sluice facilities.
I think the initial charge was arround Ā£8/10 per night, but I just checked and the parking charge has risen to Ā£17 per night, with a max of 2 nights stay. I feel that the price increase may well put many wilders off using it, I can see why, as I feel Ā£10/12 per night would sit well with most, but not as many at Ā£17.(n)
Its off off our list now, we can still get a better deal on CL/CS establishments on P4N.

We bailed out of the valley early, when we arrived yesterday I went to change location and the engine only just started šŸ™ decided we would leave today and as feared we couldnā€™t start šŸ™

I have a NOCO jump pack and that just got us started but I fear we have a more serious problem

But before we left we had a couple of walks from the motorhome

Sadly we saw no deer or wild goats this time and given the starting issue and being very remote we have decided the valley has given us all it can, we are looking for another new favourite place

We have moved to Glenmore Campsite on the road to the Cairngorm ski centre, bit crowded but lovely friendly greeting, a pub / bar next door we are here for three nights hoping the battery will recharge and the starter issue was a blip

I am going to start a more technical thread for help on the starter issues, when we arrived I tried to restart and couldnā€™t despite driving for an hour and there was an awful burning smell šŸ˜³

We might be here for a while , E&P canā€™t retract without engine running šŸ¤”šŸ™„

But we could be in a worse place šŸ‘

I saw a mention of this place on the forum , sounded like our kind of site, booked on line for 2 nights starting tomorrow , Rang today to ask if OK to add tonight never dreaming it would be a problem, they are virtually fully booked tonight šŸ˜³ but we are on

The booking option gives a discount if all adults are over 65, so failed on that, but when I asked at reception today they gave me the 30% off over 65 rate but couldnā€™t change the prebooked nights. Apparently only one needs to be over 65

Itā€™s a busy but nice site beside a loch with a sandy beach , donā€™t think itā€™s imported sand but does look out of place

Sorry to hear your having issues, as you say worse places to be if you problems persist šŸ¤ž

Looks like a decent sitešŸ‘, shall tag it as weirdly not an area we have travelledšŸ§.

Hope it's an easy fix

That looks to be a lovely campsite.
Hope you solve your van problems and have a fantastic time.šŸ˜€

Maybe of no use, but I discovered my jump starter really struggled when attached to the 'official' connection points under the bonnet...
...but fired up no problem when attached directly to the battery terminals.
Definitely not as 'convenient' as battery was under the passenger footwear but infinitely more convenient than not starting.

Langtoftlad

I went directly to the battery, partly because I had no idea where the connection points would be, partly because it was close to freezing outside and mostly because doing it outside would show up my weakness in needing a jump start, doing it inside nobody else knew šŸ¤”šŸ˜

I did find there was very little room to get the clips on though

We are definitely now in need of assistance, 2 days on charge tried to start today in readiness for leaving tomorrow

Dead as a dead thing šŸ™

We have a man coming out with a battery in the morning to see whatā€™s wrong šŸ‘

In the meantime the site has a small shop with bar šŸ¤”šŸ‘ just testing their ales

This is the car park fence šŸ™‚

I really hope the new battery sorts it.

I've had a few fail over the years on cars and a motorhome.

Talking in the bar I hadnā€™t realised we can see the Cairngorm railway and ski centre from the camp site

They had been skiing this morning

It is quite hard to see where the snow stops and the cloud starts, just started snowing here
