This was in my 2009 Autosleeper Broadway when I bought it. We don't even have a tv in the van so it is off no use to us, but I can't find a way to switch it off. We're currently in Spain and paying for electricity, it probably doesn't use much but as its useless to us does anyone know how to turn it off please.

Is that the power to it top left? If so trace that to a fuse and remove the fuse.

It will take very little power as you suggest.

Mine is a different make but has a very very tiny slide switch on the side,

Just looked on line and other users are saying there is no switch and suggest putting in a in line on/off switch

We had something similar in the wardrome our Inca, I disconnected the 12v supply, binned the item, and used the 12v to power a swtched 12v light in the wardrobe.

Have you opened the cover to see if there is another cable(12v) inside ? I think the two shown are coax in and coax out ?

It's an amplifier for the roof antenna. I would be surprised, but it possible the 12V gets delivered to the antenna and powers the amp from through the coax using 'phantom power'. Never known it work that way, but there is no technical reason not to. I would try carefully removing the cover as already suggested to see if there is a 12v feed. If so, simply put a switch into the circuit.

If you are not confident in tracking this back to the fuse and/or fitting a switch, you need to find an auto electrician to have a look for you or accept the small current drain. You could ask the dealer, but that's likely to be costly.

Not being very handy ( and we're in Spain!) I think I'll leave well alone and just put up with it. It does seem a daft idea though that you can't swith it off. Thanks everyone for your help. Much appreciated as always

As menis suggest have a look in the tracking. On other images of the amplifier the 12v +/- feeds look quiet short so they may be connected in the tracking. Perhaps later disconnect/remove the amplifier, secure the live feed on a twin chocolate block but retain the incoming 12v feed for possible future use in another way?
