Ok so you have done a “day van” not a motor home. The OP wants a MH not a Day van. This is ours, from an empty but clean panel van with 112k miles.

But it does depend on his purchase price as to wether he looses much at re sale.Ok so you have done a “day van” not a motor home. The OP wants a MH not a Day van.
It’s his first van - hence me recommending a recognised converter so he doesn’t loose much money come sale time.
Before you go telling me how great self builds are you should know I have built more than 30. I love doing them and a van like yours used to take me about 3 weeks inc making all the furniture. A full spec MH used to take about 12 weeks.
The reason I recommend him to buy a recognised converters van is it will alway hold it price so once he knows what he wants then he can invest/ make / buy what he wants.
Yes it all depends on price and quality of the conversion. Neither of the two linked are worth the asking price especially with 200 k miles. If the OP looks at some of the vans I suggested looking at they only have around 50 k miles along with quality conversion and loo/ shower which in my opinion is a must! But it does depend on his purchase price as to wether he looses much at re sale.
Not all self builds are priced high
oi... you must have seen mine ... lolnot all self builds are good conversions either most are sheds with pallets for furniture

I’m not knocking the Movano because I bought one with 200k miles and sold it after 6 months to my mate (same money I paid for it ) and he is still running it with above 400k miles without much going wrong.
Edit not all self builds are good conversions either most are sheds with pallets for furniture
I'm not too sure how to take your comment, it seems a little bit grumpy.Ok so you have done a “day van” not a motor home. The OP wants a MH not a Day van.

Hi, not having a go at you or your van. The OP asked about a “ leggy” high mileage self build and went on to say it was his first van. Looking at it, it was a very basic decent conversion (as is yours) but on a LWB - HR van with 200,000 miles plus priced close to 17k. Even with today’s price it’s simply not worth that kind of money especially with no loo/shower. As a first time buyer I recommend he buy a big converters van so he would not loose his 17 / 20k once he finds his van. If he buys a self build he won’t have a clue who/ what the conversion is like or what he’s looking at so it’s very easy to get it wrong. That would leave him with a big loss.I'm not too sure how to take your comment, it seems a little bit grumpy.
At no point have I said I built a motorhome, I was stating a fact that it is cheaper to build your own, I also stated that ours doesn't have a lounge etc as we need a short van for parking at home, but everything else is in there.
I will indeed be buying a lwb in the next year or 2 that will have a full washroom etc.
And it will be better suited to us than a 20+ year old motorhome that has things in we don't need.
I'm not a numpty, and I'm old enough to know quality, there's no pallets in my build, and total reliability in every aspect so far, which is more than I can say for the 80k plus vans plagued with teething troubles as posted on here.
I agree the vans posted so far are not worth the money, not even half, but it's the state the market has got to, its got to pop at some point, 20k plus for someone's nailed together "project" is extracting the urine.
I agree with most of the above a lot of people with little ability in either the design or construction of a good self build, but I don't think " it's(all) the state of the market" it's a lot of people who have an idea that their van is the best van out there and a belief that thee,'s one on eBay not as good as mine that's worth X so mine must be worth z. Being bolstered by buyers jumping in without proper research .I'm not too sure how to take your comment, it seems a little bit grumpy.
