CAMpRA Waste Point Fund Donations

Where do we find the accounts please, until I am aware of operating costs and stipends paid, it's not a contribution I will make blindly.
I sent a PM asking this for you. Below is the reply.

There are no as account s until we have been trading for 12 months then they are available from company house. The fund is not being used for the operation of the business only for the provision of waste points. There is a daily update of donations received and the value of to the fund.

Cynical me.

Those guys and girls between them have donated countless thousands of hours for the benefit of others, for the benefit of us motorhome enthusiasts. Achieving more in a year than anyone here thought possible.

So yes, I'd say your cynicism is misplaced.

Just added a bit more to the pot.
We hope to be making use of some of the new aires next year.

Richard.
We've stayed in a few of the aires already this year and what a breath of fresh air it was; just being able to pull in somewhere, no airs and graces (no pun intended) with everything you need for a night. It made our NC500 trip a doddle and we had the in-laws join us in a rented van - it just made the trip so much easier not to be worrying about where to fill up/dump etc and some of them had lovely surroundings, which was a real unexpected bonus.

Take a look at the impact of CAMpRA's work in Northumberland now. The County Council has a few planning applications in place for some new aires ready for next year  Personally, I think they're doing a brilliant job, raising awareness and changing mindsets.

A couple of pics from one of the aires this Autumn...

Well said.

It should also be said that this is a ‘not for profit’ organisation.

One of the joys of travelling in France is the availability of aires.
No booking in, just drive in and pick your own spot.
To be able to do that in the U.K. would be brilliant and will certainly encourage us to tour more at home (particularly with M. Macron having his airs and graces).
The CAMpRA crowd are doing a grand job and we should all support their endeavours on our behalf.

Richard.

Donation made. In the discussion a few months ago about the setup at Findhorn, this is exactly the initiative I was advocating to get around the issues affecting Scotland. The cynics were out in full force then so it’s great to see progress.
Is there anywhere we can access a full online list of these aires so we can use and support them?

Donation made :)

Everytime we stay at one of the aires they have helped set up maybe we should make an additional donation? Just a thought.

Meanwhile, as Campra does its bit to promote safe and responsible motorhome parking, Dartmoor National Park Authority is attempting to railroad through a set of new byelaws which will prohibit overnight motorhome stays throughout the park as well as reducing wild camping areas for tents. As more of us are forced to holiday in the UK, trust our overseers to make it as difficult as possible.

Search for sites is the best place. When CAMpRA works with new aires they are making sure they are on Search for sites - our aire’s listing was put on by a member of CAMpRA a couple of days before we’d even opened and before I’d got around to it! All the aires that have been accredited by CAMpRA (a separate form noting services etc. is filled out by any CAMpRA member on a visit) can be found on advanced filter in search for search, by selecting CAMpRA under the pricing and Partners option. We got accredited recently ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks to everyone for supporting this. So happy to read your comments on this post. CAMpRA gave us a lot of help to set up our little Aire near Fraserburgh. Also, some of you may not realise this, huge thanks to Jim and MotorhomeFun and it was through this wonderful group we were able to gain our exemption certificate and not get stuck in the world of planning permission.❤️

Also one final point, as we only have a small septic tank but want to offer black waste disposal, we are currently saving up to install something. Obviously as we are not a charity or local community organisation we are funding this ourselves, but my research so far is that this will be fairly expensive as we don’t just have a mains sewer man-hole we can use. Therefore every penny donated to the CAMpRA waste fund is going to be really helpful to communities especially in those more rural, isolated locations https://campra.org.uk/waste-point-fund-donations 😊

Imagine the draw of tourists from Europe if the infrastructure was in place.

I know this has been posted previously in another thread too, but I think it's worth posting again. A link to all CAMpRA affiliated Aires on S4S:

They do a wonderful job, all volunteers as well. They are always looking for extra help to approach councils, groups etc where potential Aires could be sited. Or just to let them know of potential sites so they can approach the owners. Lots of info, advice, pro forma letters etc on their Facebook and forum

They are also working to with Revolution Laundries to provide waste points at their installations. They have asked for suggestions for new locations. If you know of a garage or similar that might be a possible location, you can email them,
EDIT: Although it is great to hear about your ideas, there is nothing we can do with suggestions made in comments below. If you have an idea,** please send to contact@campra.org.uk**

APPEAL TO MEMBERS: Revolution

Laundries have made a very generous offer in return for our help.

If our members can identify a suitable location for Revolution to install a washing machines, Revolution will suggest the business install a waste point at the same time.

Revolution are prepared to carry out the necessary groundworks.

They are also willing to pay a sum of £100 to Campra toward the cost of purchasing the hardware required to complete the waste point.

Campra then hope to help fund the cost of connecting up the hardware (i.e. plumber’s fees).

Revolution offer a variety of packages ranging from free installation of washing machines with Revolution taking a higher proportion of the profits to the business making a larger contribution and, consequently, receiving a larger share of the profit.

Suitable venues could include car washes, service stations, smaller supermarket chains, garden centres. **Revolution already have contacts with some fuel companies and large supermarkets.**

**If you can think of a suitable location/ business please email contact@campra.org.uk**

Sounds like a good idea to me. Thank you for making me aware of it.
