The above campsite has been acquired by Meridia.

This is the Eleventh acquisition of Meridias joint venture agreement with wecamp to build a sustainable glamping platform.
A repositioning refurbishment is planned to elevate the site and introduce the wecamp brand. Quote unquote..

Info HERE if you wish to read about the company

Just returned from camping Javea.
The new owners are letting the standard of the campsite slip. It is definitely looking a bit scruffy. Water fountains are covered in black mold, trees not pollarded leaves everywhere just generaly untidy.
People living in the cabins have been given notice to vacate by April 2025. Snowbirds who stay on the serviced pitches have also been told leave by April.
28 of the service pitches will be having chalets placed on them, all being if licence is granted. 2 rental caravans are in place and 10 tents have been erected. This will reduce the availability of pitches by 40.

It seems such a shame that the atmosphere has changed with all the uncertainty, but heyho WeCamp have to make a living.

Surprised by these comments - we were there last month & were impressed by the site & certainly didn’t feel it seemed neglected. Mind, first time we’d been so it could have been even better before! Didn’t think much of Javea tbh, particularly the Arenal beach area, but each to their own.

If you are ever in javea again and I am there and you want a tour, let me know.

There is a lot more to javea than the arenal.

Lots of fountains have been switched off in Spain to save on energy as well as beach showers to save water. Perhaps the site is being neglected in the short term whilst they develop it .

A few images of the site on the right hand side once you pass reception. 07.02.25

Same here..never really understood the attraction of Javea...BUSBY.

We were there last month - a couple we talked to had booked for 3 months but were given a weeks notice that they were getting turfed out due to repurposing the moho bit for glamping. Also the staff were proper grumpy, wasn't impressed at all.

Some half decent restaurants along the Aranal Beach and next door Moriria? (can never spell that) is a nice place.

This campsite had the best disabled bogs and shower I’ve been to….☀️😎
Well if ever you are around, we have disabled friendly bogs at our house.

Stayed there many times over the years, lovely site, spotless facilities
I guess there will be a considerable reduction in pitches which would be a shame

We first holidayed in Javea over 30 years ago. We were spoiled as I rented a big villa on Cuesta San Antonio with stunning views. I walked up to that villa last month, it is now available as apartments .

We bought a villa there 10 years ago, after many years of research around France and Spain.

We chose javea because we feel at home their, sometimes more than we do in the UK, certainly safer.

But many just go to the Arenal and make a judgement from that. But there is much more to Javea as I have said. Not just Javea, but the surrounding area.

You can take a boat around to Dénia and discover what the locals in Javea sometimes call “El Lado Oscuro”. Translated means , the dark side. Because Denis is where many of the Nazis settled after the war.

There are many interesting parts to discover from stunning coves to the historical old town and the port.

Then of course, you have Benidorm after Moraira , Calpe , Altea and Albir

I agree, love the old town, the many good places to eat, the cycling & there's plenty of good walking over the hills either end of the main drag It's high up my list of favourite coastal places in Spain & close to lots of other good places to visit. Probably would be too busy for me in the summer but we always try to get a stop in Javea when we are Autumn or winter touring. Shame about the Camping Javea site being taken over as much prefer it to Narangal which always seems too tight.

Update on Camping Javea
Called into the office this lunchtime to find out a little more about the site development and what we will find in 12 months time.
On the site plan attached the area shaded in BLUE will be covered with bungallows. During the summer various parts of the site will have portable Glamping pods dotted about. During the winter the site apart from the bungallows will be the same as we see today. Yes, there will be an alternative entrance in use tomorrow, Monday and the route in and out will be made plain to see and navigate. The normal main entrance presumably being used to bring in plant etc associated with the new bungallows. We also checked out other camping options locally.
So looks like we will be hear again in 9 months or so.

There is a nice walk from our house, you can park outside and then walk up to the entrance to Granadella National Park.

You climb the hill and then come onto the Granadella trails. Plenty of sea and mountain views along the way. Then there are some nice houses to admire, some are owned by celebrities. At the end of the track.. You can then get a beer or a curry at .......

Great place to have a long lazy lunch. On Warmer days, you can sit in the garden to eat. Nice stroll back taking the lower road

It's one of my regular walks. We take friends and family over there for a Lunchtime walk, sometimes in the evening if we have the light. Though we did stay a little late in October. I did the walk 8 times last Autumn .

The Entrance to Granadella from

32 C. Fernando Leger is a bit difficult for the less mobile. So you can take the alternative route on the map

In Port Grimaud and St Pons De Mures. They removed a lot of the touring pitches. In fact, https://www.lesnaiades.com/en/ stopped all touring and converted all the pitches into "Bungalows" . We had been staying there for many years, as far back as the late 80's .

But the prices are ridiculous on some sites
