Here's a new one to me - I was chatting to a chap this evening who recommends the camping card acsi for French low season camp sites .
I've never heard of them before so is it another gimmick or worth it ?
opinions please thank you
regards john

The ACSI sites that are included in satnav's are the ACSI inspected sites not specifically the ones in the discount scheme.

Ah right. It's just that we're going to an ACSI inspected site that isn't in the sat nav

Rarely stay for long periods at one place, but if that is the intention it is worth asking if there is a long stay discount rate. Have been at sites which work out ACSI and own rate and charge the lesser of the 2.
Don't know about the sat nav but with the cd, no longer available, one of the options was to opt for the discounted sites. It was also very handy for finding open all year sites in France which were not in the scheme, ones we used were a similar price.
ACSI is my christmas present every year from one of my sons. I really do love something which is useful.

I've just checked and that's not an option on Sat nav

All comes as one, however, you can download just the countries you need so you can use it offline. Excellent resource.

We have found it hit & miss last year we covered the cost of the book, previous year in Greece although we only spent a few nights on a couple of sites they were the same price with or without ACSI but we are not site people only use them if there is no alternative.

Slightly off topic but here goes.

As we're abroad at the moment we had our 2017 ACSI card brought over to us
(card only) but we only have the 2016 directory.

We're thinking a few sites might have been deleted/added but other than that we should be able to use as normal ?

I think you'll be fine. Worst case you go to a site and find it closed - but you could check on the site's website before leaving.

We have a Garmin Camper sat nav similar to one photographed above, the very useful facility is to tap the searching near section in the top right. It let you choose where to search, if have a route entered you get options of current location (the default search), your destination, along the route or you can enter some other town.

Ordered the card yesterday and got the App 2 year discount package. Off to France in 3 weeks so hopefully it arrives and get to take advantage of the discounts.
