Camper Contact changed again

No chance! I still consider myself a founder member and still have many, many FLT techniques up my sleve. I.e. parking up in your drive and using your electricity when your away etc., etc., you have no idea, trust me.
And how much did you spend on camping on your last trip, loads of money.
And you were in Greece FLT heaven. What the f*** was all that about.

Well I'm computer savy technical confident not stupid and I find it bloody useless, Camper Contact is far superior even since the major upgrade almost ruined it.
I couldn't get my head round that app. When I went to Spain for the first trip in 2018 I had search for sites ,park4night and camper contact. I found all 3 of them had all the same places on them but I found the other 2 apps really complicated to use. Park4night without filters just shows everything that's around an area . There's a few spots that are unsuitable at times but that's down to some of the pillocks that use it and not the app itself . After a few months I deleted the other apps and just used park4night . It's the only parking app on my phone nowadays

The fair of you are terrible at spending money to be honest ....rubbish 😁

You have contradicted yourself in that statement Lenny me old fruit pastel. I don't accept the computer savy bit but agree with the rest of that sentence statement. Not to worry chum, next time we meet up the beers will be on me and it will be my pleasure.

I did spend a lot, several thousand euros in fact and although we pushed the boat out we did a whole lot of FLT camping too. It's what we do and have always done it and will continue to do it.

That's the problem far too many pillocks that put entries on it.
Far too many listing where you would struggle to get a VW camper in space wise and quite a few where anything over 2m high wouldn't go & loads of entries with coordents wrong.
And I always seem to find them.

Been using Camper Contact for 6/7 years and only been caught out a few times couldn't really blame CC either one was a spot in France and a nearby campsite had moved all there bins into the area obviously trying to push people into their site.

Why?

There's no need to pay for it , in 5 years the free version has never failed
With my reputation as a first class FLT and to maintain my position in the rankings
You have to realise I would not be spending 10€ on any thing I did not consider to be of outstanding value for my money.
Park4Night has gotten me out of trouble on so many occasions it's s the only one I would ever pay for.

What extras do you get for the €10?

Only the filters but I do value the star ratings and reviews from previous visiters.
Also being able to find sites with water, especially in the UK

We have rankins ?

Having had a free version for the last couple years and you only pay if you want more information and features.
With the latest update you can only look at 3 sites a day without paying.
I think the desktop version is still free, but it's not very user friendly and has some technical issues. I think they are trying to get as many folk as possible onto the app. They'll have to price carefully (currently Euro 9:99?) more competition these days. I'm finding park4night my favourite preference for Europe and tend to use Searchforsites for UK.

Are you using park4night app or desktop? The destop version is abysmal. Full of all sorts of issues that make it almost impossible to use. The app on the other hand I fine excellent, especially the translate function. Horses for courses I expect.

Maybe I wrong then but I have been so grateful for Park4Night even I didn't consider 10€ a lot of money.
Do you get the water and waste filters?

I don't get those filters but then I never use sites so I generally assume there's no water or waste unless it says it on the spot I'm looking at ..

I did one on another thread a few days ago, after your last trip you didn't get ranked.
Clearly an unofficial and unauthorised attempt to generate an unofficial and unauthorised league based on prejudice and lack of drinking expertise by a member or members who have never walked the walk, talked the talk, and have been FLT's since the beginning of time. Shame on you for jumping on the bandwagon of the ground set by others including me and attempting to steal our reputation. Nice try, but the older generation of Funsters will know who the real genuine, long term FLT's are.

I believe you can buy single months as required or twelve months at a time
I did that this year. One month. Didn't realise they keep charging monthly unless you cancel. Then you lose all your favourites, searches, history etc.

Thanks for reminding me that CamperContact auto renews. Just cancelled it for next year but will renew if needed.

I still find my way works best for me:
1 Drive to the town/area I want to be (or just stop anywhere I happen to be passing and like)
2 Key campsites/aires/stellplatz into the sat nav
3 Check with Google or with apps starting with the nearest.
4 Just go to them and ask for a pitch. Don't book.

The time spent choosing in apps does my head in and Most of the best pitches/sites have been from just turning up. Some real gems.

That sounds way too much work

As above. We traveled from Ffestinog today and at around 4.00 opened Park4Night to find what is around us.
The small blue dot is us and these are the stopovers around us.
First criteria is that they must be free. Second is that they will have review's from other visitors.
We chose a picnic area above a small village called Clive. Lovely spot and great views overlooking the valley.

My way, go to where I want to be, get p4n up ask around me choose one or two, get the one up I fancy click on itinerary and Google maps takes me to the gate.
No filters, no coordinates , just works.
If it's not satisfactory move a mile down the road and try the next.
All free and reliable.
Does that sound hard?
