CAMC is this taking the Mick

Kessingland?

Except - for me, the CAMC are [relatively] cheap compared to even CL/CS, let alone 'commercial' sites where I'm paying for someone who doesn't exist, and often extra for the dog... so I'd strongly disagree that CAMC are well known for being expensive.

It's like saying the holiday camps of Haven are pricey... but not if you're chaser and search out the bargains... have to say, I've never found the deals he finds.
I think he's automatically directed to the 'pauper pitches' .... :giggle:

Do you have to members of camac and cl sites to stay on them ?
Yes, you can only use some of the main club sites as non-members, some are member-only.

Join and read the full accounts they publish every year.
Been a member for 25 years and have occasionally looked at the accounts but as far as I remember. there is no detailed information on salaries.
Perhaps you would be so kind as to take a look for me and inform us all.
The only reason I asked is for someone to back up statements about CEO'S salaries with facts, personally I am quite happy with the arrangements as they are otherwise I would make the effort to vote.

I just booked a mixture of 5 CAMC CLs and club sites in South Wales, from 2/15 September. Not easy at the moment but job done. The cost came to a total of £200. For 13 nights works out at around £15 per night.
Good value for the time of year.
Try using CLs more. CAMC are good value generally, Top site like Hawes in peak bank holidays will be pricey. I factored in club site prices using discount vouchers I bought earlier.
We like to do a bit of wild camping too, but not at the moment.
Phil
Camping vouchers are ok but one thing to consider is they do not give any change. The vouchers are in £20 denominations so a single night is always going to cost minimum £20

When we got ours we got half in £20s and half in £10s

We use them up to whole £10s to pay and pay the odds and sods by card/cash.

CLs don’t take them and club sites invariably charge more than £20 per night. If the bill came to £41.50 I would give £40 in vouchers the rest in cash.

Me too. And I've no idea whether the Annual Report includes a salaries breakdown. I was suggesting that anyone who is unhappy with the financial arrangements of the CAMC should take a look at their accounts.

Hi , I would try Bainbridge Ings . When we bought our first motorhome our first night was spent there . I was still unsure if we had made the right decision spending all the money . When I woke in the morning and looked out of the van window to see the sheep in the next field and the fabulous view up the valley I knew we had made the right choice.

Exactly the same for us except sites only seem to accept balance by card at the moment.

Of course that site is C&CC not CAMC
Plus it's a "Listed Site (LS) that is licensed by the Local Authority and not under the jurisdiction of The Camping and Caravanning Club."
So the 'club' might not have control of setting the pricing if they only manage the site on behalf of the council or landowner. The website certainly smacks of a commercial site rate than a club site.

Just done a dummy booking, early Sept... £25 for 2 persons, awning & EHU - so not a clue.

No I didn't say Burton CONSTABLE was in any club !

You can use most Caravan Club main sites without being a member but you pay a hefty premium on pitch fees, hence my asking the OP if he was a member.
Just out of interest how much extra is it for non members (2 + c/v ) ?

You will get a 12.5% discount when you pay as the vat is reduced. Making it £98? Still not cheap on Spain, can you use asci?
or go for a mid week discount site 😎
You will get a 12.5% discount on the VAT AMOUNT - not the total bill.

Well all my discounts from the last few CAMC outings have been from the total.....or it would only mean £2.50 from a £100 booking, which is a lot less than the discounts I’ve received.

Their website also tells you 12.5 % will be deducted from the booking price on screen on arrival.

Either they’re robbing themselves or you may have mis interpreted the reduction.

VAT is levied at 5% as opposed to 20%.
So, for talking sake if the nett cost was £100 + vat you'd be charged £105 as opposed to £120 or 12.5% less.

We use the CAMC sites a lot as they don’t change extra for the dog.Going to Cornwall next month and a lot of private sites are now charging £4 night for a dog, won’t be using them.
So they should they have to clean up the mess that's why camc charge more. If you have a dog your house stinks 😅so does your motorhome. Before you go off on one I had a dog whom l loved to bits but he stank 😁😂😃😄😅😆
