Silly if the bearings in the pump fail it has the same effect as the belt failing,that is why the pump should be changed

Fiat do not recommend changing the water pump on a Ducato.

Very aware of that...but as fiat don't guarantee the water pump for the life of the engine they clearly have a lack of confidence in their advice Combined with all the other failures they can't predict before release or quickly rectify when well documented,For the cost involved I for one would certainly ignore their recommendation

I'm booked in to a specialist to have new cambelt + water pump fitted on my 2005 Fiat Scudo £630 - prices have risen !
