I've just booked my 2012 Fiat Ducato Maxi 150 Multijet (Swift Bolero) into a main Fiat dealer to have the cambelt and waterpump replaced. They've quoted me a cost of £980. In your collective experience, does this seem reasonable or a bit on the high side?

Out of curiosity, did I see you mention elsewhere that the independent garage you normally use couldn’t do this job? If so, do you know why that is? I’m curious because I’m thinking about our independent garage, used for our cars and previous motorhome, to see what their thoughts/price are.
Because of the wheel arches they couldn't get it on their lorry hoist and it was too long for their small hoist.

Just the cambelt & auxiliary belts changed, Lancing Commercial couldn't do it see post #31. Only people in the area that could do it was Adams Morley at Portsmouth. Much better service this time, obnoxious bloke got the boot, & because of the hassle last time they gave me a 100 quid off.

Thanks for that potential pointer, they are also not that far from us in Basingstoke, so worth getting a quote.

Having called (Evans?) Adams Morey in Basingstoke they weren’t overly helpful, service receptionist said ‘we don’t give quotes’, then having gone off to speak with someone she would only say it’s 5 hours work at £69 per hour plus VAT, but had no idea about the kit used for cambelt change or price of such. My attempt to try and verify A-Class vs standard Ducato cab base also failed miserably. Impression given was total disinterest and wanting to get me off the phone as quickly as possible.

I have found Adams Morey at Redbridge, Southampton really helpful and able to quote over the phone including that the A class is more Expensive as a lot more involved👍😊

I think we’ll probably use the local independent garage we’ve been taking our cars to for years, they also dealt with our previous Fiat based A Class motorhome servicing (didnt have belt change), but we used a Fiat Commercial place for this van whilst it was in warranty.
