Thanks for the recommendation Teedubyaa, will give them a ring tomorrowI took my previous Fiat Ducato based motorhome to Reno-Tech in Llandudno Junction - excellent reputation and didn’t have a problem doing mine which was an A Class which some can’t seem to do (apparently specialist tools required) -

Was this fiat professional at Deeside? That's what they quoted me recently and they wanted the van for two days to complete. This was on a 2019 van.Hi. Any suggestions/recommendations for a garage in North Wales/Cheshire region for a cambelt(timing belt?) and water pump renewal please. Its on a Fiat Ducato 2.3 2007 on a Hymer B654 A class motorhome.
Our local Fiat professional dealership is quoting £1000/1100 which sounds a lot (or is it?).
Thanks Paul, I'll try them tomorrow as well, hopefully with your and Teedubyaa suggestions I'll get it sorted.Try Windy Ridge Garage at Holmes Chapel, very helpful.
Cheers

Hi. Yes it was called Motus. As you say, they said they needed it for 2 days - approx 6 hrs labour. Was this fiat professional at Deeside? That's what they quoted me recently and they wanted the van for two days to complete. This was on a 2019 van.
No I haven't. Belt isn't due until next year but whilst there i just asked the question of how much. I am looking for someone that I could carry out proper servicing of the van also.Hi. Yes it was called Motus. As you say, they said they needed it for 2 days - approx 6 hrs labour.
Did you go ahead with them?

That’s good to know. Always better to speak to the mechanic if possible, not always that easy though!Further down South, we were quoted circa £1k by the office personnel of a local independent garage based on standard time allowed for the job (circa 7 hours) on our A class van. At the same time, their chief mechanic was stood behind said office personnel shaking his head and whispering ‘it won’t take that long’. So we’ll see later this year…
Haven't forgotten, just waiting for the two quotes to come backPlease let us know their typical quote for cambelt fitting.

I believe some ducatos have a timing chain that shouldn’t need replacing under normal conditions but my 2008 has a cam belt.I have a ducato 2008 2.2..I was told it has a timing chain..not a belt..is this correct..

How can you tell if its belt or chain..I believe some ducatos have a timing chain that shouldn’t need replacing under normal conditions but my 2008 has a cam belt.
The very nice lady where I finally got not just turned away looked it up on a database from just my Reg number. How can you tell if its belt or chain..
If you haven’t had it done during your ownership period of 5 years, it’s probably time now (assuming you have a timing belt).I have a 2013 Fiat Ducato which I have owned for 5 years …. It has only done 35k , how do I know when or if it needs changing?
